A story book.
The video store, tilt pool, and the unusual gym guard
Occurring on Oct 11, 2007, this dream is weird but has a very good story to it (to me anyway), recalled 97% of the way through. It's a 90% in tact as a whole. I didn't use my mind game to enhance the story.
This dream is very well-recalled, especially the story, that it has been placed in the stories category of my site located here. For a summary, I'm in the city streets and rent two games. I then follow a path and encounter 2 pools of water, one tilting with a guard supposedly like a video game boss. The scene without the video store repeats 3 more times with small differences.
This strange dream has 5 main parts. I recall the story in its entirety (well, 97% that is). The first is where I'm walking along outside in the city at night. My sister is with me. I see a palm tree and an area of grass that divides a road. There are many buildings around, usually from 8 to 20 stories and the area I'm in seems to be an alleyway or a dimly lit area. The whole dream takes place at night. I see a store with its lights on and someone inside. It was a video store that was 4 stories tall (a near-windowless ground floor and 3 windows with a yellowish tint to them). I went in and looked at the games. I found a Spyro and Sonic game I wanted to try out. The racks had red colors and the games are 6 rows high and about 50 across. The store had a blue-cyan carpet (about 00B0D0 or ######), light gray walls (about ######) and the ceiling color isn't recalled though its slightly brighter (about E0E0E0 ######). The store was quite large, about 120 feet by 100 feet. I head to the checkouts and begin the procedure to checkout. The clerk tells me that the games don't work. I ask what happens and I get told of read errors, freezes, and other things. I suspected the previous owner's console was having difficulty and I told the clerk how to test this. She takes out a rental console and hooks it up and finds that the games are indeed working fine. I then checked out in full, paid (cash or check I don't know), then left with the games. I continued down the alleyway and turned right where part 2 starts.
I follow a long corridor with lots of right turns and an occasional left turn. After 3 or 4 turns, about 100 feet apart, I encounter a wider area but with a pool of knee-deep clear-looking water. I wade through it with my sister. The pool is about 7 feet wide by 60 feet long and sort of resembles a fountain. The floor has rock-like square tiles 3 inches on each side. I take a left turn and see a deep pool that has a bluish tint to it (about 4080FF50 ######). The pool is about 10 feet wide by 12 feet long. I saw narrow rims around it against the wall and crossed the pool using these 9-inch-wide sides. Suddenly, I felt shaking like an earthquake struck then the area began to tilt. I lost my balance and fell in the pool. The same happened with my sister. The water was now very easily seen as blue (a sky blue in particular now as a much more visible/opaque 4080FFC0). I was getting pulled down to a drain and I needed to reach for something to grab onto. I then realized the games and my checkbook were gone. I dove underwater to find and grab them then quickly got back to holding on. The tilt increased to almost 30° at one point. The waves of this pool, were nearly 2 feet high and the area looked a lot like a storm at sea. After reaching the greatest tilt, it quickly returned to normal. I got back out and out of here and found something strange ahead.
Two more turns after the tilting pool, I saw a gym. The gym had wooden floors with a polyurathane coating causing a white reflection to be clearly visible, like the Sun does to wavy water. The area was completely clear outside markings that seem to resemble hockey or basketball, except that there wasn't any basketball hoops. The floor was a tan-like color (about E0A070 ######), the walls were bright but an unknown color (about 224 bright) and the ceiling I don't recall. The doors are the same color as the floors only with a lot more distinct roughness effect. There were two others here. One didn't care that we were here but the other guarding the exit did and was very mean. He spotted us and walked toward us at about 2 mph. He was big and massive, 6 1/4 feet tall and nearly 300 pounds, all muscle as it seemed. Fighting him seemed unreasonable so I lured him over while sister snuck over to the exit. After luring the guard halfway out, I made a mad dash for the exit successfully making it.
Parts 4 and onward are nearly repeats of this with small changes. Instead of going to the video store, we just continued on. In part 4, we thought of going to the video store but rejected that idea and continued following the path for the previous 3 parts. At the tilting pool, we weren't fast enough to cross it but we were better prepared. Once we knew we couldn't make it, we jumped in and grabbed onto something. The pool didn't tilt as much and it was shorter-lasting. The guard, this time, fought but was very weak defensively making it easy to take him out.
For part 5, a young, black-haired female joins, named Ashley. Again, the video store was rejected and we all followed the exact same path. We barely made it across the tilt pool and for the guard, I just went up to it and fought him taking him out with ease. Part 6 is where we all (Ashley included) snuck along the route. The tilt pool never even went off. After the tilt pool, I saw someone coming but she wasn't a hazard. Unlike before, the guard wasn't there, but was with the other one. We got spotted and the guard went after us. He was much harder to take down and with all 3 of us on him, he was defeated. His weakness was simply squishing his belly and I was the one doing that. Upon squishing his belly, I could see the veins become clearly visible, of a brownish color. I was holding the now 10-foot giant around the neck. We left without further troubles.
