What photos do you have of your 2008 vacation in Minneapolis, MN for September 15?
Last updated: Sep 27, 2008
Monday, September 15, 2008, was the day I went to the Mall of America. It appears to cover nearly a million square feet of land. With extra floors (3 main with the center cut out, and a fourth with not much on it), it could very well have nearly 2 million square feet of floor space. I even encountered a few security guards there (saw them walking by), something I rarely see in a mall, if at all. For quite a while, spanning a few years, I've had many dreams involving this very place, many dreams (at least 5, probably more (and of over 700 (as of Sep 27, 2008, it'll take a while to search through all that), though with all the shops in this place, finding those dreams is much faster).
1 Mall of America Shopping
Shopping, to some, it's a disliked activity. To others, it's enjoyable. I'm pretty much smack in the middle, though I often avoid getting stuff unless I really need it. I actually did get something here - two shirts. I don't have that many shirts so it was worthy.

Photo #15-1: This is the entrance to the Mall of America. Nothing special here folks, just keep moving onward.

Photo #15-2: Shops, shops, and did I say shops? Oh, yeah, I said it 3 times in all! But, there are just so many of them, almost 500 based on the directory. 500 - a shopper's paradise. It must give new meaning to the phrase "shop til you drop".

Photo #15-3: Going up? Up is a good direction - you get better views. This is another area viewed from the second floor.

Photo #15-4: This was one of my favorite shops, though I didn't get anything. I was almost about to get a deck of cards there (standard playing cards), but that didn't happen. Magnets plus digital devices don't mix.

Photo #15-5: Still craving for more shops? Well, here's some more. I think that should be enough by now.

Photo #15-6: Oh, so the second floor is still too low? You'd better not be afraid of heights as there's a 26-foot drop (or so) over the edge there, nice for my mind game when it comes to speed (but 50 mph is a snail's speed...). My favorite shop is also visible from here.

Photo #15-7: Since higher does mean better views, straight across anyway, objects sure get small from all that distance straight up. I particularly like that white square area on the floor, the texture.

Photo #15-8: Here's something similar to photo #15-6, except from the third floor.

Photo #15-9: Man, you still want more shops!? Well, here's some more, plus a fountain tossed in for the fun of it, just to add some variety. No, the fountain isn't a shop.

Photo #15-10: Oh where's that time machine at? Then again, I don't need it. 8.1 years ago, I went to this place and got a shirt there.

Photo #15-11: After the trip, I saw this just as I was leaving, the big sign. I recorded a long video of typical freeway and road travel.
