1 The fall-glide

Link to 170 KB image

The fall-glide is a special ability that cuts the acceleration from gravity by about 1/4 so, instead of accelerating at 21.9 mph per second, you accelerate at 5 mph per second. This is my first ever animation created from using the GIMP. I've set a big speed record with it as far as making the frames. I had one error that I had to fix, but fixing the error, due to layer support, was easier than first thought, but still time-consuming. This was mainly just for a test to see how using the GIMP could fare on time for making the animations, but, if it's that good and that fast and simple, I could easily create an animation with ten layers of moving objects, so I can almost kiss goodbye to all those complication using my old method. I only needed six columns of positional numbers to make this animation. Because of the opacity and stuff (and the alpha channel), I can increase the quality five fold without hampering the frame-creation time. If you think animation number 10 was good, my potential with the GIMP could make animation number ten seem like nothing more than dust floating around. 6 layers of moving objects, however, isn't too difficult to work with. But, with the GIMP, working with even 15 layers shouldn't be all that tough. It took but two hours to process the frames. Normally, it'd take 3 times longer using my old method. The process of doing the animations is basically the same, just some minor adjustments have been made.
