These are the system requirements for version 3.x. Because the game is still a work in progress, the exact details for many aspects won't be known until the game is near completion. The screensaver and free editions have progressively lower requirements, but slightly (values shown for the full edition). The certainty follows, which will increase as time goes on.
Minimum requirements:
These are values for the bare minimum that the game needs in order to run. If something is below this, or not present, it'll unlikely run or be unbearable in terms of frame rate, even with the lowest quality settings possible.
Processor: 300 MHz (20%)
Memory: 32 MB (60%)
Video card: 32 MB, 3D support not needed (75%)
Disk space: 40 MB (40%), a lot more if you like recording videos (100%)
Resolution: 512x384 at 60 fps (80%)
DirectX: Required, but an unknown version (probably 7 or 8, something geared more toward 2D; 80%)
OpenGL: Unknown, but very likely it not required (95%)
Hardware acceleration: required (100% - everything needs it, otherwise you'll get 2 fps and lower, even on a high end system)
Operating system: Windows only - 98 (95%), Me (95%), 2000 (95%), XP (100% - I develop using XP Pro SP3), NT (60%), or Vista (70%). I do not have Linux or Macintosh so I cannot develop toward these operating systems.
Internet access: Required only for downloading, but not to install or run (95%)
Sound: Questioned as to whether or not it'll be present, but likely not required. (80%)
Keyboard: required (100%)
Mouse: not required (90%)
Recommended:
These are values recommended for smooth play and great graphics to their fullest extent.

Keyboard: required (100%)
Mouse: recommended (90%)
