What are The Supernatural Olympics?
Last updated: Aug 1, 2006
Though some things are uncertain, these are the system requirements to the best of my knowledge for the full version (certainty, on a scale from 0 to 10 (10 being completely certain) follows in parentheses):
Memory - 64 MB (accuracy: 9)
Hard drive space - about 4 MB (3.9 MB for the program, 4 KB for the key file, 4 KB for another file, and 16 KB for game save data**; certainty: 8)
Processor - 400 MHz equivelent (certainty: 5) - due to simplicity, it could run even on a 200 MHz processor*
Graphics - 640x480 resolution at 32-bit color (24-bit color doesn't work, unfortunately; certainty: 10)
DirectX - You must have DirectX 9.0c (certainty: 10)
Video memory - 32 MB (estimated - won't know until finalized; certainty: 6)
Operating System - Should run on Windows 98, Me, 2000, and XP for sure (not sure about NT though; certainty: 8)
Internet access - Required for download only, but not required to play the game. The file size is fairly small so dial-up users shouldn't have too much difficulty having to wait for the program to download (about 20 minutes, depending on the speed of your connection). (certainty: 10)
Sound - there is no sound at all so it is definitely not required (certainty: 9)
Important note: This game will not run on any card that doesn't properly support DirectX 9.0c such as the ProSavage S3 and first-generation 3D cards such as Voodoo. If you have a video card from ATI or Nvidia, you shouldn't have any problems, except very old cards. If not, download and try out the free edition before buying to see if it works. The full edition is the same as the free edition with only minute changes to the features.
If I'm missing something, let me know.

Footnotes:
* Running at 64x normal time, where many functions are running 64 times per frame, it barely even registers in Windows Task Manager, about 2% CPU usage on average. This is with my 3 GHz processor.
** It may seem like the file is 1 kilobyte, but it's actually using more than that due to cluster size. Cluster size is dependent on the file system used and the capacity of your hard drive. FAT32 would have 32 KB cluster sizes for a 40 GB hard drive and NTFS just 4 KB. Because of the variations in cluster size, the actual size ranges from about 3.93 MB to 4.02 MB.
