The Primary Status as seen in my mind game.

What is the Ninth Status like?

Last update: Jul 12, 2005

1 What the Ninth Status is

The Ninth Status is almost never mentioned to others, mainly only used in my script, and, to a lesser extent, in my mind game. The Ninth Status is what you use to equip abilities for use and for learning. The Ninth Status isn't well known for life, if it's even possible, but it's actively used in my script, "The Legend of the 10 Elemental Masters".

2 Use of the Ninth Status

2.1 Ninth Status as seen in my mind game

2.1.1 2 "screenshots" of it

This is from in use mode. Lots of details in such a small space.... Each circle that you see represents just one equip slot. Knuckles has over 5000 of them (but, then again, look at his level).

This is from in learn mode, which is quite similar to use mode. The circles are seemingly random because, the lower in the list you are, the less of an impact AP pluses have on these abilities. The higher you are, the greater the impact, so, in fact, it is organized.

The images above is how I see the Ninth Status in my mind game. The colored circles represent the 8 different types of abilities.

2.1.2 Colored circle representations

Since there are 8 different types of abilities, there's one color of circle for each type. There's a ninth color as well, white.

Red - special ability - these often take two or more equip slots. With Knuckles, they are extremely common. You'll see these in use and learn mode.
Yellow - Permanent - these can be turned on and off and are only seen in use mode.
Green - equip-only de-independent - you'll see these in use and learn mode.
Cyan - equip-only independent - you'll see these in use and learn mode.
Blue - equip-only dependent - you'll only see these in use mode.
Magenta - use-only de-independent - you'll only see these in learn mode.
Gray - use-only independent - you'll only see these in learn mode.
Black - use-only dependent - you won't see these anywhere except the 6th or 8th status bars.
White - empty slots - no ability is in these equip slots. You'll see these in use and learn mode but not in the Eighth Status.

2.2 Basics of the Ninth Status

2.2.1 Equipping for learning

Abilities, using the Ninth Status, can be equipped for learning. An ability called "status control" is required before you can manually do this or a far more AP-costly version, "insta-adjust status control" which allows you to adjust for your changes in times amounting to a few microseconds instead of a few minutes or even hours. The Ninth Status, as far as learning abilities goes, can only be used to equip abilities that are of the "equip-only" type and permanent types. Some special abilities are included. Only dependent abilities cannot be equipped here as dependent abilities are not equip-only abilities, they are mostly use-only abilities. Each ability you wish to learn takes equip slots. Humans typically have from 8 to 12 equip slots for learning abilities.

2.2.2 Equipping for use

Abilities can also be equipped for use. Only equip-only, and special abilities can be equipped. Most independent abilities can be equipped and many de-independent abilities can be equipped, depending on their type. Permanent abilities are, in a sense, already equipped as they take zero equip slots, hence their name. They get turned either on or off. For use, humans have, I think, from 10 to 16 equip slots. A permanent ability called "slot+5" allows you to get more equip slots both for learning and for use. Levelling up will naturally give you more equip slots. Beyond this, not much is known about the Ninth Status. It's almost exclusively a mind-game thing and something used in my script.
