What are your video game dreams?
On certain occasions, I get dreams that are like a video game in their nature. Since I was four, I've been at playing video games. I still do today, but less than 1/5 of the hourage as I used to. Occasionally, I get a dream based on a video game, often one that I've played in excess from long ago. Zeliard, Bubsy, and Metroid are commonly focused in these dreams. These dreams are like video games by the way they look and feel. Very often, they are well-forgotten.
Noteworthy dreams in this category:
2-5: I wished this dream would repeat once more as I liked it a lot. It's well-forgotten.
2-9: This dream I find unusual by its nature and I don't understand how I ended up getting this one.
2-11: This dream forecasted the future. Two weeks after the dream occurred, I got views just like the dream showed me.
2-12: I would like to make this dream into an actual game.
2-18: This is the oldest recalled dream to date clear back to 1992 or 1993!
2-19: I wished this dream would repeat once more as I liked it a lot.
2-24: This dream led to the concept and idea for George Game 13, my high-speed do-anything 3D platform game.
2-32: I think this dream occurred more than once.
2-46: This dream suggested a method for the clouds in my first 2D game as, at the time, I was stumped on how to do them.
2-97: This dream is very well-liked and wished I could get a repeat of it.
2-102: I wished that this game was a real game.
2-105: I wished that the game at the end of the dream was a real game. It's also well-liked and I wished it would repeat.
Dream 2-131: Playing in boiling water and super hot lava in original Metroid

I'm in Norfair supposedly on the original Metroid. A black bar at the bottom was present containing stats. Red lava was below. Then, heading right, I found slightly deeper lava with huge bubbles. This stuff took energy away 4 times faster. I recall, once, jumping in the leftmost area and walked through it to the right. Speed was unaffected. The bubbles went over her head (she didn't have the suit).
Shortly after, a tsunami-like wave appeared and and the super hot lava became boiling water with a bluish gray color. It took energy at half the normal rate. As boiling water, a shark came by 300 pixels above. The area was 2 screens high. A bit after the shark passed by, the boiling water gradually became the super hot lava. It was lava for a minute, water for a half minute. On the third time it was water, I jumped in and waited for it to become the lava. When fully lava, the energy went down fast to 1 and the dream ended.
Dream 2-132: Got stuck in a room in Super Metroid with rising boiling water
Occurred on Sep 22, 2009; general - 1.8??; nature - 1.8??; story - 1.5??; scenery - 1.2???; fun - 2.5??; scary - 1.2??; weird - 1.8??; scenery - 8% in tact!; story - 20% in tact; dream - 15% in tact
I'm playing Super Metroid and, in one area, a pool of boiling water rises. I ended up getting stuck (likely unable to make a jump) and I thus ended up playing in the boiling water. There was a hill at the end. The deeper underwater I went, the faster the energy depleted. At the surface, 2.5 units per second was lost. At 128 pixels below the surface, 10 units per second was lost and the change was very abrupt. I was climbing a hill near the end. At one point, I deliberately jumped into the deeper areas but realized it was deadlier. I quickly got up using wall jumps but couldn't seem to surface. The water rose at a rate of 32 pixels per second (a half pixel per frame).
Dream 2-133: A mix of Final Fantasy elements in a single FF-like game
Occurred on Oct 20, 2009; general - 1.5???; nature - 1.8???; story - 1???; scenery - X; fun - 1.5???; scary - 1???; weird - 1.2???; scenery - 3% in tact!!; story - 10% in tact; dream - 8% in tact!
I only recall parts and pieces. I recall the game having the challenge of FF5 (both battles and figuring out the story) and mechanics of FF6 (adjustable party, character gathering (same as FF6's second world)). One event I recall early on is that of espers wrecking the world instead of Kefka. I had the airship, resembling FF1's. I couldn't figure out what to do and it seemed like I played this game before. I often visited a particular house for a character I wanted, went off elsewhere, did something else, then returned. I don't recall any battles though.
Dream 2-134: 2D game and high speed in a desert level with quicksand
Occurred on Oct 30, 2009; general - 2.5??; nature - 6!??; story - 1.5???; scenery - 2??; fun - 3.5??; scary - 1.5???; weird - 1.5???; scenery - 15% in tact; story - 10% in tact; dream - 12% in tact
I recall playing a 2D game and a desert level. The desert level had wavy sand below that you sank in if you didn't jump a half or third of a second upon landing in it. Textures had rocks with banding. I don't recall the background other than the sky. I followed the course well until the end. It seemed as if I've played this game before, based on thoughts I had. I recalled an area at the end where you'd get extremely fast and bounce around a lot. The area split in 2. The path going down and left leads to the sand pit. Going down and right leads to the level exit. I got close to making the exit, but ended up taking the down left route. I was going almost 50 pixels per frame around here. I landed in the sand pit and jumped repeatedly. That is, until I pressed the jump button a frame or 2 early causing the character to sink. I knew I had to walk at the bottom to the left to get to out so I could try again. The dream ended before I could.
Dream 2-135: The indestructable "teacher" robot and Bubsy forest glidehops with bees
Occurred on Jan 1, 2010; general - 1.5?; nature - 1.2?; story - 2?; scenery - 1.8??; fun - 2?; scary - 1.8?; weird - 3?; scenery - 20% in tact; story - 35% in tact; dream - 30% in tact
This weird dream has 3 parts. The first is where I'm being followed by an indestructable "teacher". It was in a farm-like area. I supposedly cleared a few levels to get here, hinting to this being a video game, but seemed too life-like to be one. I tried to defeat this teacher, but couldn't. It didn't seem to get hurt no matter where and how I hit it. I recall having to use the reset button.
Part 2 is similar to the first except it takes place in the house. An electric barrier blocked access to the key area I needed to be. Once disabled, I saw a robot much like those in 1970's sci-fi films. It, like the teacher in part 1, was indestructable. I tried, for 15 minutes, various ways to make it vulnerable. Others helping out didn't work either. I knew I had to use the reset button again.
Part 3 is Bubsy's forest world, a remake. I recall 2 parts to this. The first is that of new level design - there were twigs hanging from the top. The second is using the glide-hop to get as high as I can and thus as fast as possible. The bees were basically the ones I used. I had 25 pixels per frame once. Just before the dream ended, a bee got in the way which ruined a potentially faster run. Normally, the bees don't allow glide hops at all.
Dream 2-136: Level 5's eggs in level 1 in Zeliard used for quick almas
Occurred on Feb 1, 2010; general - 1.5???; nature - 2???; story - 1.2???; scenery - 1.5???; fun - 1.5???; scary - 1.2???; weird - 1.8???; scenery - 5% in tact!; story - 8% in tact!; dream - 7% in tact!
I recall playing Zeliard. Level 5's eggs (the area with the blue stuff) were present in level 1 (where you start). Oddly, the magia stone destroys them when they normally cannot be destroyed. I used them as a source for leveling. I used the sword-down trick to ensure I get the most almas the enemy could drop.
Dream 2-137: Playing in Metroid's lava (again)
Occurred on Mar 11, 2010 (±1 day); general - 1.5???; nature - 1.8???; story - -1.2???; scenery - 1.2???; fun - 2???; scary - 1.2???; weird - 1.8???; scenery - 10% in tact; story - 6% in tact!; dream - 7% in tact!
This Metroid dream combines the one with boiling water and richly detailed lava, and the original Metroid. I recall playing around with the lava (fully opaque) though there were deep areas on the right and shallow areas on the left. The background was completely black. I went under the surface in the deep areas and neck deep in the shallow areas. This lasted about 3 minutes and I don't recall anything else.
Dream 2-138: FF6 debug mode event selector and glide hops in a Sonic-DX-like game
Occurred on Mar 22, 2010; general - 5?; nature - 30!!?; story - 2?; scenery - 1.5; fun - 5?; scary - 1?; weird - 2?; scenery - 40% in tact; story - 25% in tact; dream - 30% in tact
I recall playing FF6 and using debug mode to access the event selector - a list of numbers from 1 to 60ish on a blue background appeared, sort of like Sonic 2's level select screen. I recalled selecting an earlier event after I loaded a late game save and returned to the first world while keeping late game equipment, espers, and spells. I vaguely recall this part, but I recall using the event selector 3 or 4 times.
The second part is my favorite - I played as some other Sonic character (yellowish and small though not Tails). He/she had similar skills to that of Bubsy - high jumps and glide hops. The game had the same movement mechanics as the 2D Sonic games, but was 3D with Sonic Adventure DX's free camera mode for camera behavior. The area was quite blank in terms of detail and level layout. The level had a lot of widely-spaced blocks as wide as the pathway leading to the mirror room in Sonic's stage 9 (in DX). The length was twice this. They used a medium-light gray (176 brightness) stone texture. I recall hopping from a higher ledge to a lower one with an enemy on it. It resembled a penguin only yellow or red. I used it to glide-hop to a very high height (4x the height max) then falling to reach extreme speed. I repeated this a few times, once doing a very high one, 3 times higher (and about 1.73 times faster) than the average speed and height I had. The background was pretty much all white and featureless. I don't recall anything else.
Dream 2-139: Disgaea and FF12 mechanics in a cave of a realistic RPG
Occurred on Jun 20, 2010; general - 2?; nature - 3?; story - 1.5?; scenery - 2?; fun - 3?; scary - 1.8?; weird - 1.5?; scenery - 30% in tact; story - 30% in tact; dream - 30% in tact
I recall this ultra realistic game (by graphics) that looked almost life-like. It was an RPG with some design elements like Disgaea. Damage popups resemble Disgaea's along with stat mechanics, though I don't recall seeing any stats outside HP. Battles work much like FF12 - you can see the enemy in the distance... except for some.
I recall this dark cave-like area with at least 3 sections. One went into deep water but had a very powerful enemy. Another, of which appears out of nowhere and respawns, was in a small 2-foot-by-3-foot bookcase. A third was beyond. Where the path splits in 2, the water area is to the left in a 6-foot entrance. The bookshelf was against the wall closer to the camera on the right. The direction I needed to go was straight ahead.
I first recall checking the bookshelf for treasures but instead found the spirit - I only got 0's from it as I had a very high defense. After defeating it, I don't recall what happened other than some exploration. The most powerful optional boss was nearly encountered once but avoided it.
After a bit, I encountered the ghost again. I thought I was ready for the ultimate boss - I encountered it, and it, too, got a lot of 0's. It did, occasionally, do some damage, though only small stuff. It attacked twice and I defeated it on my third strike. The dream ended shortly after. The cave was dark, the water was clear and went to 16 feet dep from what I can recall.
Dream 2-140: The finger holographic platformer in an arcade
Occurred on Jun 27, 2010; general - 1.5??; nature - 2??; story - 1.2???; scenery - 2??; fun - 2???; scary - 1.5??; weird - 1???; scenery - 18% in tact; story - 10% in tact; dream - 12% in tact
I recall bits and pieces of this dream. I'm in an arcade room. One thing I recall early on is that I had to wait a long time before I could play. I don't recall why though, probably long lines. I eventually reached my limit and called my parents when I wasn't supposed to. I have no idea if this was a parental limitation or a rule at the arcade. There were 12 games present - a racing game, a finger holographic platformer, and the other 10 I don't recall. The place seemed like an office building - a path 20 feet wide with a nice red carpet and very light gray walls (223 brightness) lead up to the arcade room. About 80 feet out was a left turn - I didn't see anything else outside this. The arcade room was quite dim - just 6 lux though the outside was fairly normal - about 120 lux.
One game that I recall very well was the finger hologram platformer - there were short-lasting platforms of circular blue objects. I amazed everyone as to my skill with it. If I recall correctly, the pointer and ring fingers were used as "legs". I don't recall how the controls worked, but it's either a series of buttons and/or a joystick or I used my own hand. The playing of this game takes up a considerable portion of what I recall. It seemed to be kind of like Platform Masters in a way, though not quite. Outside objects in the real world, I've never experienced 3D and it's been a good fraction of a decade since I last saw any holograms.
