What are your travel dreams?


Ever since my "mean teacher" went to the Bahamas when I was in the 7th grade or so, I've always been interested in travel since. This interest also sparked the birth of my mind game. Since probably around 2000 or so have I had the most travel-related dreams. These dreams, in general, have a lot to do with travel and vacations with little in the way of exploration.

Noteworthy dreams in this category:
5-6: Ideas from this dream were used in my story "The Legend of the 10 Elemental Masters".
5-11: I wished that this dream would recur as I liked it a lot.
5-19: This dream hinted at an event to occur just 5 days later. By then, one of my previous neighbor's dogs (the hunter) jumped the fence and killed one of my dogs.
5-20: This dream was featured in one of my stories.
5-26: A "teacher" I had in elementary school is mentioned here.
5-28: I've called my home town's planners and things to offer a suggestion involving this dream (except a much cheaper version than what my dream mentions).
5-30: This dream may go in the exploration category. It's also one of many dreams in a burst that featured my first ever trip into Canada (on Jun 20, 2005).
5-32: This dream likely occurred due to watching too much of a particular TV show.
5-37: This dream features a software crash with a cell phone, something I've never heard of happening at the time the dream occurred.
5-38: The dream features some getting stuck in a blizzard. Just a few days later, a major blizzard struck my area causing one of my family members to not be able to return home for a day.
5-48: A rather unusual way of obtaining small cash quickly was mentioned here.
5-49: I wished that this dream would recur as I liked it a lot.
5-52: The dream is very well-recalled in terms of the scenery, but almost no story is recalled, a rare combination.
5-58: This dream still bothers me (as of Apr 10, 2007) whenever I go shopping.
5-61: This dream is liked a lot and I wished it would occur again.
5-71: This dream may belong in the "weird" category.
5-79: I found the last part of this dream quite bizarre and wished it would recur.
5-82: This strongly mimics something I do in my mind game a lot and wished more of such dreams would occur.

5-103: Despite being vaguely recalled, this dream is an oddball in that the feelings are well-recalled compared to anything else bumping the dream's in-tact rating above the scenery and story in-tact ratings, well above.
5-118: This dream has an unusually high nature rating compared to the rest - it stuck in my mind for a few days.
5-128: This dream has a great story and is probably the first that uses event undoing directly.
5-141: This dream is a high favorite with a compatibity of 200. It was stuck in my head for about a week afterwards.
5-144: This dream predicted numerous events fairly well (though indirectly as usual) in the Sep 13, 2008 vacation I had.

Dream 5-141: Eastern Asia trip and the spinning Russian hotel

This dream remained fixed in my mind (bothering me) for at least 2 weeks and it's all thanks to that unusually high nature rating of 200. I'm on a trip with mom in eastern Asia. The entire dream took place during the night and the vehicle was mom's van. I always carried my drinks, papers, and pencils with me. There was a small solar/battery-powered freezer in the car. We first needed to visit 2 towns near North Korea. We were southwest of the border and the closest town was only 30 miles from it. The other was about 80 miles south of it. It was the first visited. I was a bit worried about getting too close to the Koreas. I don't know what was needed in each town though. I recalled a passage between the Koreas being mentioned, of which looked to be 5 miles wide. I didn't want to go there. The third town was someone near the second, the closest. We did a little shopping and looking around.

Then, for a bit, we couldn't make up our minds as to where to go next. I had a world map with me on a piece of paper about 2 feet wide by 14 inches tall. I saw Russia nearby on my map and decided on that. We headed there. A few miles in, we needed to refuel so we stopped at an old-looking gas station that was actually in Russia. I got out and looked around on foot. I ran to the door at a rather fast 12 mph (which, in this case, was a pacing speed). This is actually something I do in the real world, especially in parking lots. One of the locals said something I couldn't understand (not English).

This is where the dream got weird and it also caused the nature rating to spike quickly, reaching 500 in areas. After this, we looked around town and a hotel. We stayed at the rather weird hotel. I went back out to the car to grab my papers, drinks, and my frozen pizzas. I returned and the clerk said that they served food there. I put the pizzas back into the car freezer but kept the papers. The papers had my notes. I climbed up a ladder to a fourth floor opening where our room was. The whole hotel actually began spinning and tilted some. The room felt level, but the force of gravity was about 20% higher. The central part of the hotel didn't change, it was only the rooms that did. I began writing in my notes about my experiences, as for a future site update in my blog and daily entries. Late in the hotel scene, just before the dream ends, I recall mom using yellow-colored postage stamps to mail something, but, being US stamps, they had to be converted. At first, one stamp was good enough but a second was.

Dream 5-142: Fairground setups - arrived when fair not in session

I very vaguely recall this dream. I'm at the fairgrounds during April. The fair was being setup instead of the actual events, as I had on a flier or saw in an advertisement (don't recall what). I volunteered but vaguely recall what I did. I had odd side jobs like setting up or lifting something.

Dream 5-143: Gliding away from home and rental houses in Paris (not France)

I recall bits and pieces of this dream. Early on, I recall an event where I almost run away from home. I use the flash attack straight ahead then glide picking up speed to almost 200 mph from 100. I recall a hilly area with grass and shrubs 300 feet below going by at about 300+ mph. I found dad at a bank upon landing. He was upset at me so I did my usual flash attack+glide.

Part 2 is where I'm preparing to go on vacation in Paris. We were driving along empty roads. I doubt it's Paris, France. I, instead, think it's a rural area in the wilderness. We stop at one house and rent it. We visit someone next door in the small vacation homes, who was packing up. This neighbor looked familiar. We then visited a friend several miles away next to a lake and found a vacant area available. We paid $500-some for it and I recalled that I needed my MP3 player and something else from the other house. A minute later, the dream ended.

Dream 5-144: Sep 13, 2008 vacation fun (an actual future prediction)

This dream involves the upcoming Sep 13, 2008 vacation. I recall visiting a lake that started with a V, likely "Vura" (Certainties of each letter: V (>99%), U (90%), ? (20%), R (30%), A (60%) - it may be 4 or 5 letters). I had troubles that day. One scene involved an expensive restaurant where you had to order food and set up 4 days in advance. I have my video games played upon waking up (about 5 AM) and going to bed (about 10 PM). Sonic was involved. I had my TV tuner and I used it to record. Some big male (about 300 pounds) used their cell phone and screwed up the TV signal, until he went 3 feet out the door (where, probably, walls weakened the signal). I didn't have a good time at the end of day 3. Thursday was eating day. Today was Wednesday, and we ordered the food on Monday. The lake visit was targeted at 2 PM. I had Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Sonic Mega Collection, and 3 other Gamecube games. The carpet was dark blue. This is all I recall for this dream.

I checked Google Maps, but didn't find any lakes closely matching "Vura". On my real Sep 13, 2008 vacation (see the blog for that day for more details), there were two lake visits, but couldn't swim. While there, I indeed played my games shortly after waking up and shortly before going to bed. There was a big male involved with a cell phone, and for the TV signal being screwed up, this probably involves those widescreen TV's that stretched the view and were dark when away from perpendicular when played on them (cell phones had nothing to do with it, just the design of the TV). I did bring the Gamecube, Sonic Mega Collection, and a total of 5 Gamecube games (4 intended), with Looney Tunes back in action being the extra. Instead of playing Sonic a bunch, it was Bubsy. I did encounter something involving reservations, a train ride, but that was it (and it never happened). We went to many restaurants, of which are quite a bit more expensive than making meals on your own. I, indeed, didn't have a good time at the end of day 3 (Monday, Mall of America, another common theme in my dreams). The vacation started with waking up around 5 AM and ended with it being around midnight. And yes, cell phone troubles were present, during the Mall of America visit and it was the big male's cell phone, of all things. The others were supposed to call us, but the ring wasn't heard and this resulted in doing nothing at Mall of America for nearly an hour and a half. What the 3 feet part has to do with it, that I don't know. I never looked at or thought of this dream after I wrote its details down so in a way, it predicted many things, just indirectly as my dreams often do.

Dream 5-145: Browsing a store with my behavior graded by the "evil teacher"

I'm looking through a huge warehouse-like store. I recall untangling a 25-foot-long white cord for a computer mouse that came from the ceiling. Various items were placed in a bin a foot deep in this area, of which I don't recall (they were generally browns and tans). The area's lighting is fair in quality as it's a bit dim. I dodged mirrors beforehand. While I followed others with me, the "evil teacher" tagged alongside me grading my behavior. I got a 6 or 7 (of 10) from the store. I had two tens from later on though. I don't recall many details beyond this.

Dream 5-146: Helping a friend by a pond near my home

I mostly recall the ending to this dream. I'm on a mission to help someone. The destination is accessed through going west of my house about 1/4 mile then north about 1/2 mile. The area is hidden within trees and contains a small pond. A friend is here who needs us. I come with mom to go. We walked toward the destination. We miss making the initial turn to the area, even though we saw the path, and took the next one, 3/4 of a mile. The walkway is about 3 feet wide and is all dirt (sort of like those dirt roads in the countryside, except only 3 feet wide). I think we used walkie-talkie-like devices to contact each other, and that's how we knew that we missed the turn. We find the next pathway heading over there about 1/2 mile ahead. We follow it until we see an area surrounded by trees that form the perimeter around the small pond. The trees prevent vehicle access except ATV's or anything less than about 3 1/2 to 4 feet wide.

The friend needed us to do something, probably move or carry some heavy object. I don't recall what the object was, but given a later scene, it's a hood for a car. The friend was a female about 5 1/3 feet tall (a bit shorter than I am). The water here was surprisingly clear. After doing the task, the friend, myself, and mom spoke with each other. I was leaning up against the hood. I remember stating that I saw something similar to this on Google Maps. I also remember asking the friend how deep that water was. The friend stepped in the deepest spot, which was on the south side, and she was in an inch deeper than the ankle (about 5 inches).

Dream 5-147: Helping police track down robbers on a car

I don't recall this dream too well. I recall robbers striking the house of where I had the family reunions during my Sep 13, 2008 vacation. I get on the thief's car's roof calling 911. I had a regular wall phone with me. I inform the 911 station of where we were going while I was sleepy. The wind drowned out my voice to the thiefs, allowing me to speak to the police on my location. Oddly the phone was working very well at a range going beyond 3 miles. The dream ended while the car was still going, nearly 5 to 6 minutes since leaving.

Dream 5-148: Recording a solar eclipse in the desert

I'm in a desert area with a crowd gathering. I had my camera with me. A solar eclipse (Moon blocks Sun) was about to happen. I soon saw the new moon getting in front of the Sun. I started recording from this moment. I saw the diamon ring effect and the area getting quite a bit colder, like 15°F colder. After 30 seconds of the total eclipse, the dream ended.

Dream 5-149: An odd staircase and wanting a cheap Playstation 2

I recall 2 parts to this dream. The first is vaguely recalled. There are a series of square-spiraling, dark gray, metallic stairs with design-based holes (the holes are part of the design) going 40 floors high. A fogging effect was visible. I recall mom and/or other family explaining them.

Part 2 is at the end. It's night. I found a used Playstation 2 for $59.95 placed on a series of shelves behind a counter near the mall's exit. I commented on it but didn't want it. I thought about it then changed my mind. I asked if I could get it but realized I also needed my checkbook of which was left in the car. The others wanted to go and I repeatedly asked if I could get it. Juast as I was about to run back, the dream ended.

Dream 5-150: Flight to Canada, frequent forgetting, and teleport-casting problems

This dream actually forecasted what would happen during the day. I go on base to catch a flight to somewhere in Canada. I recall needing to get my stuff, so I cast teleport then search for it. I recall being after my headphones, of which were tough to find, and my camera. Upon finding them, I cast teleport to appear on the plane. I recall an event where, just before taking off, I had to get something I forgot. I spoke with someone as well. I mentioned of the flight being to Canada. I had a map in my mind where the plane headed NNE and arced toward the ENE. I tried to return but I had troubles casting. I tried many times, but around the fifth try, it worked. It was 10 minutes before sunrise. I recall clearly seeing it and filming/photographing it. The dream ended a minute into the flight.
