What are your travel dreams?


Ever since my "mean teacher" went to the Bahamas when I was in the 7th grade or so, I've always been interested in travel since. This interest also sparked the birth of my mind game. Since probably around 2000 or so have I had the most travel-related dreams. These dreams, in general, have a lot to do with travel and vacations with little in the way of exploration.

Noteworthy dreams in this category:
5-6: Ideas from this dream were used in my story "The Legend of the 10 Elemental Masters".
5-11: I wished that this dream would recur as I liked it a lot.
5-19: This dream hinted at an event to occur just 5 days later. By then, one of my previous neighbor's dogs (the hunter) jumped the fence and killed one of my dogs.

5-28: I've called my home town's planners and things to offer a suggestion involving this dream (except a much cheaper version than what my dream mentions).

5-128: This dream has a great story and is probably the first that uses event undoing directly.
5-141: This dream is a high favorite with a compatibity of 200. It was stuck in my head for about a week afterwards.
5-144: This dream predicted numerous events fairly well (though indirectly as usual) in the Sep 13, 2008 vacation I had.

Dream 5-101: The misfiring Roman Candle and bathroom swapping

I only recall one part near the middle of the dream. I was in a store of some kind about to leave. The store had a red carpet. Someone mentioned of Roman Candles and other fireworks and I watched once I left the store. There was a group of 3 or 4 in a grassy field about 60 feet from the store. It was night out and the only lighting came from the rather small store which was maybe 40 feet long by 30 feet wide. As I headed toward them, I saw a red-colored octagon thing that stored fireworks along with a few trees that were about 50 feet high. The Roman Candle was lit and went off but wasn't firing properly. Instead of going 30 or so feet up, some barely went 4 feet and while still emitting light, landed in the 4-inch-tall grass. The grass caught fire and I saw they couldn't put the fire out. The Roman Candle was still firing where half of the 10 shots didn't make it above 10 feet of height. I quickly reentered the store, grabbed a 16-ounce clear cup and filled it with water from the sink just 8 feet past the entrance. I raced back out and threw the water on the fire almost putting it out. The fire was put out by stamping on it.

I told them that I was quite skilled with fireworks and that I could help. I was told about them and was pointed to the octagon-shaped storage bin. I saw a bunch of rockets. Each side of the octagon had a container area of about 1 1/2 square feet and a volume of 2 cubic feet. I don't recall anything else with the story.

I do recall 2 bathroom scenes (but vaguely) where I was near a toilet in one and was going back and forth between the women's and men's bathrooms.

Dream 5-102: Store exit problems, swimming in a flooded building, odd magnification tool, and movie

I recall this dream in 4 parts. The earliest one was of some sort of store. My family was here. I went along without problems until about to leave. You were to climb up a long series of stairs that went up 40 feet. This final area was huge - 400x180 feet of floor space extending up nearly 50 feet. The whole floor was made of concrete, including the stairs. Perpendicular to the stairs was a ramp of a 5:3 slope that I could use instead of the stairs. I went toward it but it meant having to jump on and across checkout areas in order to reach. The store staff wouldn't let me and I couldn't forcibly do it. They told me to use the stairs but them I can't just as the belt was going to move. I had to take the long way around using the hallways my family went through earlier. I don't recall anything for the first part.

In the second part, I was in a building. Whether or not it was an office building or a school, I don't know. It sort of resembles my 9th grade school that was 3 floors high. I know of at least 2 floors in this building. The lowest floor was flooded. The water here was very clear with a 200-foot visibility. I was with someone else who was with me. We looked around here as we could supposedly breathe underwater. I don't recall anything else with this other than the carpetted floors and brick walls.

The third part is rather strange, stranger than the second. Here, I see a device that could magnify objects extremely well. I used it but was disappointed about the 2X magniffication it had. I recall it being capable of magnification of 1000x or so (even higher). I saw a car junk yard outside of the window of my house and used this on it. A car, viewed at the longest area was about 1x0.7°. The high-mag-tool only did 2x magnification. I found some small magnifying glasses and used them on the car junk yard. Two did 4x magnification. I took another pair and got 20x magnification, enough to read license plates.

The last part is where someone was after someone else. I wasn't in this, but was otherwise the "camera" or watching a movie. I only recall the end of it where one was going to die in 10 minutes. There was a city setting (supposedly in poorly-lit alleyways of a city of sky scrapers). I don't recall the story here but I do recall bits of the scenery. At the end, the one targetted was supposedly going to bed. The carpet was a dark blue, the door was closed, and the room used a nightlight. He/she thought someone was going to get him/her. Between using the heavy bed or the easy-to-move dresser to block the door, he/she used the bed. 20 seconds later, after moving semi-crushed soda cans, making the least amount of noise possible, the dream ended.

Dream 5-103: Road trip along lakes and hills

I very vaguely recall this dream outside the feelings (the cause of so few question marks, and the rather high dream in-tact rating compared to the others). In it, I'm travelling among lakes and mountains (hills?) on a road trip. I had a camera with me that I used often and I saw high grass-covered hills. I recall 2 instances of something and 2 or 3 more of doing something in the van, but my notes don't specify anything. I do know that this is a favorite dream, hence the high nature rating.

Dream 5-104: Getting home with a traffic block, pool visit, and an unwanted side duty

I only recall the last half of the dream. I was supposedly returning home from something but traffic was backed up a half mile northward and wasn't moving. I said I knew of a shortcut around it, but rather than going there, I was taken to a house with someone named "Christa".

There was a pool scene with cold water that Christa and my sister went in. In this scene, Christa freaked out when she went in because the water was rather cold. I recall her asking if I wanted to come in but I didn't. I was standing about 15 feet away from the nearest edge of the circular pool 8 feet in diameter. I was on top of a stair 3 feet higher than the top of the 3-foot-high pool.

Another scene I recall is where there were 4 or 5 long tables, each 16x4 feet and parallel with each other. They are spaced 5 to 6 feet apart from each other. The last thing I recall is my sister said this was required and was something she had to do. I wanted toi leave but couldn't due to this and with the way things looked, it'd be a while. It appeared to be 8:00 PM given the season and the Sun. I asked for a phone and the phone I got was rather odd. The numbers of a normal phone, from left to right, top to bottom, is normally 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, *, 0, then #. This phone had 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, *, 0, then # in the same order (basically, the top two rows have been switched). I had a tough time figuring out what was what to call home, but conflicting thoughts due to the odd phone messed me up. I then just dialed my number as if the phone was a normal one.

Dream 5-105: Going to Brazil to play with children

I mainly just recall the end. Somewhere in the middle, I was riding in a vehicle along a 2-laned road. I was going to some house in Brazil to have a party and play with children. The driving part went on for about 12 minutes. It was night. I constantly checked a poorly detailed map as I was unsure where I was going or if I was going in the right direction. I was excited about the trip. The road has very little traffic. After a while, we saw a city visible on the horizon. The city was medium-sized at about 120,000 residents or so, much bigger than I'm used to in the real world. By then, the sky was getting brighter due to sunrise. We entered the fairly small town and 30 seconds later, stopped at a building. I entered and I was welcomed by an adult. There were no children visible.

I don't recall much beyond here. One thing I do recall is asking if I really was in Brazil. I saw two posters of the world map, one listing countries and major cities, the other of satellite imagery. I was pointed to an area in central Brazil at about the 3°N latitude. I made a remark saying that I'm used to 48°N latitude. The one I was with asked about snow and I told them I was very familiar with it. I don't recall anything involving children while here.

Dream 5-106: Boat shows cancel a well-wanted lake swim

This dream has 3 parts. The first is vaguely recalled. I recall packing stuff up - my dark blue swimsuit and my Playstation 1. The second part is where I'm there. I saw the lake, a small one barely a quarter mile in diameter, that had big waves (2 to 3 feet high). A few boats, mostly sailboats, were present, of which were fairly small. About 20 to 30 beachgoers in and around the water were also present. The building was fairly dark with only windows offering any light (due to the Sun). The floor was a dark brown wood. The same goes for the nightstand. There's a TV in the area. I don't recall the walls nor ceiling. A bed is nearby with white sheets. The windows in the building are grouped on one side and closely together. They're about 6 feet high starting just a foot above the floor, and 4 feet wide. 5 or 6 of these windows spaced only an inch apart lined one wall. It was through these windows that I saw the lake and boats. I was looking down about 30 feet signifying that I had a great height, either on top of a hill, multiple stories high, or a combination of these. I don't recall stairs though. Even then, looking about 30° down, the waves were very noticeable as they were quite large. The sky was rather gray and no shadows were seen outside suggesting an overcast sky, though I don't recall it.

I wanted to go swimming and was told from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM were the times - a boat show was to take place after. It looked as if it was already 10:00 AM judging by the relative brightness and the storyline, so I had to quickly get going. I ran into a problem right away - I couldn't find my swim suit. I searched all over for it. I found my bright orange one, but it was too big. Then, right at the last minute, I found it in my bag at the bottom and so well-camuflaged that, only by taking everything out, I found it. The bag resembles travel bags with the hard bottom and a soft, flexible, upper area. My Playstation 1 was on the night stand hooked up, but not running.

A skip occurs in the dream, part 3, where I'm dressed to go, but it was too late. I asked when the next time tomorrow was that I could go but it wasn't until the day after that I could go since boat shows were going on. I was disappointed and the dream ended about 3 minutes later. At the end, I recall being near the shower area dressed in my swim suit and I recall seeing someone standing just 20 inches from it also with a swim suit of a slightly lighter blue color.

Dream 5-107: A strange airplane landing and flying over a swamp

I only recall the last two minutes. I'm flying a small plane and was about to land. I head for the runway where I see 2 green lights of 4. A third green light came on then a red. When 10 feet above the ground, I cut the throttle turning off the engines. I wondered why the plane was still going rather fast and I realized I forgot to put the brakes on. I do so coming to a stop just 2 feet off the runway in the dirt. 5 seconds later, I started it back up again took off, and went flying toward a swampy area with a lot of leaf-less trees in brownish-red-looking water, of which I was tempted to go in the water. I don't recall anything else.

Dream 5-108: Offroading, a strange clothes cleaner, and a play

There are 4 parts. The first part is only has a single recalled scene for it. I recall being at home in the kitchen. I don't know what happened - I just recall the scene and I know it was the first event.

A second part was where I was in dad's truck in the parking lot of an old-looking building. There were cars parked here and the whole area was surrounded by trees in lines. This was in my home town. Dad wanted to use a piece of rock (scoria - like pumice, only red) and a dead fly as cushioning to see how it protects tires. Just before the experiment started, something happened causing dad to need to drive his truck offroad into areas without trees but lots of tree litter (leaves, twigs, pine cones, etc.).

The third part is just after a small skip in the offroad driving incident. I was riding with dad to some area out of town to the south about 30 miles. I don't recall what, but a big skip occurs where I'm in a building in Minnesota. It was like a small only rather dull and with few visitors. I recall first going to a bizarre clothes-cleaning area. The floor had 4-inch square creme-colored tiles. The walls were similar. Lining the walls were showerheads with laundry cleaners on shelves nearby. One was "Suave", the brand I know best for shampoos and things for the body. In here was someone who could wash clothes at an incredibly fast speed. I gave him two pairs of underwear and a shirt and in just 2 minutes, he had them washed and dried. I paid the fee in cash then moved on.

Part 4 is where I was to watch a play. I was drowsy and mom gave me a chewable tablet that was huge, about 150 grams (about 5 ounces). It had the shape of a whale. I felt it working only halfway through. The stage had 2 cars on it, real ones, and 4 or so other pieces of props. I don't recall what happened. In the last scene of this part, I recall seeing a bunch of boxes with treats in them. I recall jail being mentioned. I someone solved the puzzle on the first run where the mechanical rabbit went through the required number of boxes. Just as I was about to be hauled away by real-looking police, I used insta-teleport and the dream ended a half-second later.

Dream 5-109: Chess board at a gas station and a strange event with an instant-win game

I only recall the last 10 minutes, the last 5 the best. Earlier, I recall being at my house and about to head out. It's only a recalled scene. Part 2 is where I'm at a gas station and it starts raining. In another scene, I recall a chess board with pieces set as if mid-game. I accidentally take it out of the building. I put it back after having noticed it.

Part 4 is where I'm getting a bunch of sodas, the best recalled part of the dream. The cart is full of them. At check out, I was pointed to a 48-can case of Mello Yellow with instant-win stickers on them. I grabbed two of the near-cube-shaped boxes (3x4x4 can grid with the short side matching that of the tall end of the cans). I got an 80¢ off coupon and one where I'd win cash based on the number of users visiting a given forum. I chose HWW then, mysteriously, the number of anonymous users in the real-time monitoring version (supposedly a much later version) took off increasing 40 per second for more than a minute. I saw 3000 and it was still climbing and I mentioned that I won $300 when it passed the 3000 mark. I just stood watching not using any cheats or tricks, and the number just kept on increasing. Some 1-second periods only yielded another 20 users while others yielded 80 so the rate was all over the place. The dream ended when it reached 3400.

Dream 5-110: Checking closed cases, buying a sign, and getting old games at a rental store

This dream has 4 parts. The entire dream takes place in the city at night. The first is vaguely recalled. All I recall is being in some sort of store. I don't know what it was of either. At the top floor of this 5-story building was a police station-like area. I recall going into the "closed cases" room to see if a recent case was closed. There were filing cabinets 4 feet to the right just as I entered. There were also many book shelves with golden-tan-colored folders containing lots of papers in them. The carpet was a light color around a brightness of 192. I don't recall how I got in here without being denied access or anything (either that, or they were publicly available). On the filing cabinets, the only ones in the entire room, there were 5 pieces of paper of a golden-yellow color (apparently dyed that way). On it were names of various criminals who have had their cases recently closed. The text was black, size 14, Arial, and in bold. There were 3 columns of names, sorted alphabetically going top to bottom, left to right. I started with the "Z" group looking for "B". The name I was after, "Brad" I think, wasn't on this list. I left the area without touching anything.

The third part is where my sister drove me to a store that sells signs. One I supposedly ordered (custom-made) was available in the outside display and I entered the store. I pointed to the one that strongly resembled it. I realized I forgot my check book so I informed the cashier then used my insta-teleport ability to quickly get it and return. I paid the $30-something by check and left with my sign. I don't recall what the sign was or had on it, but I recall a medium-dark color (brightness around 96), and of a somewhat darkened blue-violet-like color. The store I was in had a ceiling 20 feet high and covered an area of 120x80 feet. The floor had 6x6-inch square tiles with grout spacing them 1/8 inch apart. These tiles were of a slightly darkened cream color (brightness around 208). There were many signs hanging around of various types, mostly those for individuals rather than road signs or advertisement banners.

The last part is where I visit a movie and game rental area. I saw many old games for the Genesis and Playstation 1 for sure but other systems from the Genesis era to the Playstation 1 era were there as well (SNES?). You could buy these games rather than rent them. I got 2 Genesis games and one Playstion 1 game. I don't recall what they were, but they were apparently games I long wanted to own. It was in this scene that I found out I was in Minnesota. The store was rather large - 80 by 70 feet (at least that of which customers could go around in, excluding employee-only zones). The used games area was near the checkouts, of which were parallel with the longest sides. One scene I recall is looking at some weirdo with a spiky hair style who was 6 feet 3 inches tall and looked as if he was about 190 pounds and 25 years of age.
