What are your travel dreams?
Ever since my "mean teacher" went to the Bahamas when I was in the 7th grade or so, I've always been interested in travel since. This interest also sparked the birth of my mind game. Since probably around 2000 or so have I had the most travel-related dreams. These dreams, in general, have a lot to do with travel and vacations with little in the way of exploration.
Noteworthy dreams in this category:
5-6: Ideas from this dream were used in my story "The Legend of the 10 Elemental Masters".
5-11: I wished that this dream would recur as I liked it a lot.
5-19: This dream hinted at an event to occur just 5 days later. By then, one of my previous neighbor's dogs (the hunter) jumped the fence and killed one of my dogs.
5-20: This dream was featured in one of my stories.
5-26: A "teacher" I had in elementary school is mentioned here.
5-28: I've called my home town's planners and things to offer a suggestion involving this dream (except a much cheaper version than what my dream mentions).
5-30: This dream may go in the exploration category. It's also one of many dreams in a burst that featured my first ever trip into Canada (on Jun 20, 2005).
5-32: This dream likely occurred due to watching too much of a particular TV show.
5-37: This dream features a software crash with a cell phone, something I've never heard of happening at the time the dream occurred.
5-38: The dream features some getting stuck in a blizzard. Just a few days later, a major blizzard struck my area causing one of my family members to not be able to return home for a day.
5-48: A rather unusual way of obtaining small cash quickly was mentioned here.
5-49: I wished that this dream would recur as I liked it a lot.
5-52: The dream is very well-recalled in terms of the scenery, but almost no story is recalled, a rare combination.
5-58: This dream still bothers me (as of Apr 10, 2007) whenever I go shopping.
5-61: This dream is liked a lot and I wished it would occur again.
5-71: This dream may belong in the "weird" category.
5-79: I found the last part of this dream quite bizarre and wished it would recur.

5-103: Despite being vaguely recalled, this dream is an oddball in that the feelings are well-recalled compared to anything else bumping the dream's in-tact rating above the scenery and story in-tact ratings, well above.
5-118: This dream has an unusually high nature rating compared to the rest - it stuck in my mind for a few days.
5-128: This dream has a great story and is probably the first that uses event undoing directly.
5-141: This dream is a high favorite with a compatibity of 200. It was stuck in my head for about a week afterwards.
5-144: This dream predicted numerous events fairly well (though indirectly as usual) in the Sep 13, 2008 vacation I had.
Dream 5-81: Macaroni and cheese in a restaurant and fried hot dogs

I only recall bits and pieces of two parts. The most obvious was that I was at a restaurant. I got Macaroni and Cheese along with something else I don't recall. Someone almost put ketchup on when I halted them just in time.
The next part I recall is a stand where a variety of things are, with hot dogs being a certainty due to their involvement in the dream. The were many "dents" in the light-gray metallic object (supposedly to hold the food; aluminum?), about 12 or so (I don't recall). The place was rather dimly lit, as if only 15-watt lightbulbs were used. I wanted sliced, fried hot dogs for my macaroni (after my past). I recall someone being here and I was nice enough giving it to her. The exact details are not known. I recall paying the bill but that was it. I don't recall anything else.
Dream 5-82: Military officer speech and the escape from school

A high-ranking military officer visits a school I'm in. This is the first of two parts. The officer was giving some sort of speech. I paid no attention to what the officer said and I just turned the whole area into a game level as I would often do. Mrs. Hall was in this dream and you guessed it - she told me to stop playing games and listen. I refused. A small verbal battle began and only 30 seconds later, someone went out the nearby doors, going outside. One second after seeing it, I got up and raced toward the doors leaving the building. I said I just wanted to go home. Both the school and area I was in was foreign to me. Almost every student of the building was there to hear the speech. I don't recall what it was about or even a single word of it. The officer stood on top of a curved stage which was a rather high 8 feet. The students were all around. The doors I use to flee the school going outside is about 120 feet away. Although I don't know where I was in the class, the class was centered around the stage. I was looking up about 25° and left about 35° to see the face of the officer, who stood almost centered on the stage. I was sitting on the floor.
There were many high hills around, all of which in the background. The school yard had a few concrete paths about 4 feet wide of a light grayish yellow color (a very small hint of yellow). Off the pathway are fields of grass. The pathway supposedly loops the school. From the entrance, to the right is where 2 cars are parked, a blue one and gold-colored one. There was a tree almost directly in front of me and a bit to the left, and there was a second tree, but I don't recall the position. I don't recall the sky conditions though and it was broad daylight. This is where the dream gets a bit fun, the second part. Mrs. Hall and some school staff chased after me. I first ran, but they were catching up to me. I jumped 8 feet high, the highest I could, and began to glide. They were only a few feet away from me and because I had little ground clearance, I had to glide level. Although I got a bit faster so they went as fast as I did, I looked around for a source of height. I saw a gold-colored car up ahead. I went for the roof of it. I landed on it carefully and jumped. I got up higher and began gliding at a faster speed, faster than everyone here. The landscape went down hill from here allowing for easy acceleration. I could see very far out into the vast, near tree-less, hilly terrain and it was very pretty. The hills were covered entirely with grass. From the base of the hills to the top, the heights ranged from 100 to even 400 feet. Those in the background had higher differences more often.
Dream 5-83: Riding in a house-like vehicle and a weird football game

I don't recall this dream very well. Most of it, however, was where I was riding in a vehicle with a house-like environment. I had a room to myself that had a bed and a dresser. It was about 9 feet long and 6 or 7 feet wide. There was a wide rectangular window that I frequently looked out of. It was about 3 1/2 feet wide but only a foot high.
The only 3 things I recall is watching out the window at the scenery whizzing by. This signifies I was in a vehicle. I also recall playing a football game on one of my game consoles. It seemed like it was the Gamecube given the 32-bit color appearance. There were several modes. There's a single play mode where you do a single play and win or, in a rather bizarre case, lose. The better the play, the better the score. I recall playing to win first. I then tried the case where you played to lose and the weirder the mistakes made, the better the score. There was also a full game as well where you played 4 quarters. Before play started, you needed to set player positions, or where each player was to go. I don't recall anything else about the football game. The last thing I recall is where I entered a town to go to the bathroom. I wondered where we were. As far as I could tell, I was either in western Nebraska or eastern Wyoming. Around here, the dream ended.
Dream 5-84: The strange test

I only recall a few pieces of this dream. The first is where I'm just outside some brick building getting ready for a rather bizarre test. I'm in a vehicle, one like a Ford truck. There's snow on the ground. It's broad daylight. I soon get involved with the test.
There are 7 or so others with me. The first was to climb up the stairs into the building. The stairs have snow 2 feet deep which made it tricky to climb. I make the very high steps to get up. I don't recall the next several minutes.
Near the end of the dream, I'm in some garage. An 18-wheeler was supposed to arrive. I did various things while here but don't recall any of them. There was a concrete floor and concrete walls. From what I can tell, there were 3 divisions, each leading to at least one room. The area was a bit dark (40-watt bulb) and seemed like it was night. I don't recall anything else.
Dream 5-85: Trip to a German museum

I supposedly won a trip to tour central Europe. I recall visiting 3 countries. I was in an area just a few miles southwest of Germany. I don't recall much of the beginning, but the last 2/3 of the dream quite well. I was at some kind of exchange building. This building was on the borders of 3 countries and located in the southwest part of Germany. I was to enter Germany to visit a museum. I had to wait a few minutes while security checks occurred. Everyone in my group of, I think, 7, was permitted. I received a stamp at the back of my hand (not the palm). I asked what it was for and I was told it gave special permissions. I left the building now in Germany.
I enter a vehicle and ride several miles in it. I recall watching the scenery whizzing by and a minute later, I enter a small town. I see a brick building on the side, of which had signs written in the German language. I soon stopped at a museum. Inside, I saw many old things from the early 1930's (maybe late 1920's) to as late as the 1960's. I recall seeing World War II planes and ships (as models) in one part of the museum, stuffed toys, mainly big ones, in there as well. There was a third section but I don't recall what it was. The models were directly to the right and the stuffed toys lined the wall shelves to the left. The third area was behind the shelves halfway to the other end of the area.
While I was here, I saw many US pennies on the ground, one of which dated 1911. There was also a US nickle 2 1/2 times the diameter of a normal one, dated 1940-something and it had Disney characters on it (Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and some others I don't recall). I knew this was a rare coin and could be worth a lot. I picked up many of the pennies on the ground. After about 10 minutes here, it was about time to leave.
However, I was told an explosion was to occur in 15 seconds. I quickly gathered the pennies and stuff I picked up and fled. I used my glide ability to quickly get out but I was surrounded by several 3 and 4-story buildings with little in the way of being able to get out. I soon saw a stairway going down while gliding at about 20 mph. I pitch down rapidly descending but accelerating, but find a wall blocking my way. I had to quickly get out but the dream ended before I did and nothing otherwise happened.
Dream 5-86: Dropping stuff off from a house and quietly

I only recall one scene and one event. I'm at an old friend's house. I was supposedly trying to grab stuff from other rooms (legos for sure) but there were others. I only recall dropping his stuff off. I made 4 trips gathering stuff and I had to be quiet. The carpet was thick and a blue and orange mix (randomized design - for the quarter-inch carpet strands). The area was a mess. I don't recall anything else.
Dream 5-87: Driving along steep cliffs, pathway of quicksand, and old games in a store

This dream has 3 parts. The first is where I'm riding in a car in the outskirts of town. There were a lot of steep hills around here. I saw one area that had a yellow warning sign saying of a 10° slope with a curve, edge, and for the next 300 feet. We made the turn without any problem and halfway through the curve, of which was to the left, I looked over the edge. It was about 90 feet down and there were a bunch of trees there with little grass. I don't recall much about this part.
The second part is where I'm walking along a pathway. There was a bit of mud, but it wasn't bad at first. The path was on a waving slope where it starts flat, gets quite steep (about 50° downward) downward, levels out again, gets steep again going downward and so on. There are 6 cycles of this. On the second-to-the-last time it levels out, about 120 feet below the top, there was a pool of quicksand. I quickly got out. I continued down the path and at the bottom was another pool of quicksand. This time, I couldn't get out so I tried to lay flat but was unable to since my feet were stuck. I continued sinking but then used the flash attack to get out. That worked very well. I wanted to go in the quicksand I encountered above. I did and just let myself sink in it. When I was almost neck deep, I used the flash attack and got out of it.
The third part was where I was in a store. I saw a rack/shelf contining many old video games. They were either boxes, for the newer ones, or, for the older systems, cartridges. There were many Sega Genesis games. I recall seeing an Atari game called "Vietnam". There were Gamecube and Playstation 1 games as well, but almost everything was a Sega Genesis game. I searched through them all and took some as I wanted them. A staff member came by and asked if I needed assistance. I asked him/her for a power cord for the Playstation 2. I searched through the games more while waiting and I soon got it. The last scene I recall is where I'm riding home and was eager to try it out. 20 seconds later and the dream ends.
Dream 5-88: Gliding home with groceries and a weird blimp

There are 3 parts to this dream. The first is where I'm gliding around town. I'm first within the town and looking around. I supposedly went shopping as I had two bags that I was carrying. They hindered my top speed due to the drag they caused. I eventually got out of town where I could go faster, to about 110 mph. I was focused on getting higher but had a hard time going much more than 60 feet above the ground. I found the car club being at a car show. My dad was there and I said hi to him while I continueed.
About 2 miles away, I saw this weird blimp-like thing that sort of resembled a car. The airbag itself was maybe 5 cubic meters and yet, it could fly very well. I was gliding around it at the time. I found it to be rather dorky at first but it soon chased me a little and I had to make a few turns to avoid it. It had no propeller, but rather, it used belts and raised ridges to fly with (along with the air bag). After a bit, I wanted a ride and was offerred a ride. I rode the thing to an area 40 feet above the ground, which was above a sign. It hovered like a helicopter, moved like a blimp, and was about as noisy as an a small airplane. Once I landed, the dream ended.
Dream 5-89: Doctor visit, going to the lake in January, CPU replaced, and relatives visiting

There are 5 parts to this well-recalled dream. The first is where my sister was taking me to a doctor appointment late at night - around 9:00 PM or so. It was with Darveaux (sp.?) and it was at the same building. It was January and dark out, but no snow was around. I do recall being in the building, but don't recall anything involving the doctor. On the return trip, I recall seeing some swampy water in a forested area. I wanted to play in the water and sister agreed. It was mud water.
The second part is where I replaced the CPU in my computer and, upon starting it up, I checked the BIOS at the CPU temp. I found it running at 83°C or 84°C, the same as before. I told my dad about it and mentioned he'd look at it. I don't recall much else about this other than going on the net.
The third part was where I was going to go to the lake. I was excited, but, given that it was January and thus very cold, I suggested going to the pool instead. While heading there, I realized I forgot my swimsuit and they wouldn't let me turn back to get it. This was during the day. I don't recall anything else about this part, not even whether I went to the lake or the pool.
Part 4 is where I was told my relatives were coming. This took place during the summer of 2007 as I recall "7 years", which, if it was the summer of 2007, it would've been 7 years since my last vacation (in the real world, not the dream world). I watched out the window in the living room for them and within a few seconds (about 20 to 30), I saw a small white car pull up into our driveway. I ran off and took out Bubsy for the Genesis and began the fourth world (the source of OWTLI), but don't recall which level. I played the game for a bit then went to the door to greet them. There were 4 here. I saw another vehicle in the driveway as well but don't recall it. I think it was a red truck with more certainty on the color than the vehicle type.
The fifth part, the last part, is where I was supposedly in my home town. I was shopping. I was with someone in a white shirt who was searching for someone named Jason. I was at a grocery store. I think it was the Miracle Mart on Broadway. The scene I recall is where I was near the area where medications were sold, and where sodas were sold. I recall roaming around with the one I was with but never found what I was after - Jason. I recall an event during this part where "around New Mexico" was mentioned and I mentioned "Arizona". The dream ended around here. At the time this dream occurred, I was in the midst of severe computer issues involving the CPU and thus the possible cause to the second part.
Dream 5-90: Vacation by the lake

I only recall 2 parts and vaguely. One of which was where I was in a house by a large circular lake. The lake was about 1.5 miles in diameter and the beach used a 6:1 slope toward the water. Around the lake were various houses with tall trees behind them. It was evening (low sun, slight oranging of the sky), and I supposedly went on my first vacation in 7 years, given the summer-like theme. I don't recall what happened during the first recalled part. The second part was later in the day where it was night. I had to sleep. My relatives were with us. I wanted to go in the lake again. I finally knew what it's like to be on vacation. The dream ended shortly after going to bed.
