What are your travel dreams?
Ever since my "mean teacher" went to the Bahamas when I was in the 7th grade or so, I've always been interested in travel since. This interest also sparked the birth of my mind game. Since probably around 2000 or so have I had the most travel-related dreams. These dreams, in general, have a lot to do with travel and vacations with little in the way of exploration.
Noteworthy dreams in this category:
5-6: Ideas from this dream were used in my story "The Legend of the 10 Elemental Masters".
5-11: I wished that this dream would recur as I liked it a lot.
5-19: This dream hinted at an event to occur just 5 days later. By then, one of my previous neighbor's dogs (the hunter) jumped the fence and killed one of my dogs.
5-20: This dream was featured in one of my stories.
5-26: A "teacher" I had in elementary school is mentioned here.
5-28: I've called my home town's planners and things to offer a suggestion involving this dream (except a much cheaper version than what my dream mentions).
5-30: This dream may go in the exploration category. It's also one of many dreams in a burst that featured my first ever trip into Canada (on Jun 20, 2005).
5-32: This dream likely occurred due to watching too much of a particular TV show.
5-37: This dream features a software crash with a cell phone, something I've never heard of happening at the time the dream occurred.
5-38: The dream features some getting stuck in a blizzard. Just a few days later, a major blizzard struck my area causing one of my family members to not be able to return home for a day.
5-48: A rather unusual way of obtaining small cash quickly was mentioned here.
5-49: I wished that this dream would recur as I liked it a lot.
5-52: The dream is very well-recalled in terms of the scenery, but almost no story is recalled, a rare combination.
5-58: This dream still bothers me (as of Apr 10, 2007) whenever I go shopping.
5-61: This dream is liked a lot and I wished it would occur again.

5-79: I found the last part of this dream quite bizarre and wished it would recur.

5-128: This dream has a great story and is probably the first that uses event undoing directly.

Dream 5-61: Fun park with a special access hilly area

The main thing I recall about this dream is the scenery, especially the ending. At the ending part where almost all of my details are, there is a large two-story building, much like a mall. I'm outdoors in my main recalled scene. Ten feet to the east (by the map below) is a miniaturized railroad, of which has its tracks 11 inches wide. There is a security guard 3 feet at a diagonal from the railroad toward the corner of the building. A large hilly area blocks the view. They are still 12 feet above the ground at the lowest, but their peaks get as high as 40 feet. The one the railroad goes directly over the top has a peak 30 feet above the rather flat area around it. From the security guard, the peak of the hill is 200 feet away. South of the security guard is a vast, open field withs lots of grass. About 1500 feet south of the security guard is an area where the grass is 5 feet 11 inches tall, taller than I am. The rest of the grass is a more standard 2 to 4 inches tall. The area is sort of like a park, only very open. This map otherwise explains things as I see them in my recalled scenes and putting them together. Each pixel is 3 feet. As far as the story, near the beginning of the dream, I got a special map with a bunch of tricky clues on it to solve the puzzle, much like a treasure map. I got it in the mail. Solving the puzzle would grant special access to a secret, guarded area.
Near the end of the dream, I'm in this huge park with a large mall and an otherwise empty area around it. I saw a security guard near some miniaturized train tracks that went into the hills. I saw some who did the puzzle showing the security guard some special spot on the map. It was the same spot each time.
I wanted to know what was over those hills so I thought of a way to do so. The guard wouldn't let me so I had to think of another way to do it. I turned around to face the vast open field then charged up the speed blast and blasted off heading away from the hills into the open field. I was float-running for 2 or 3 seconds right after blasting off at about 250 mph then I slammed on the brakes. I couldn't stop fast or soon enough and ended up about 8 feet into the very tall grass. I turned around in the very tall grass trying to aim for the hills the railroad tracks went over which was rather tricky. I used the speed blast again only at a much higher speed, close to 600 mph. I blasted off zipping past everything like they weren't there, even the security guard who didn't seem to notice me coming and I reached the hills.
Although very vaguely recalled (and rather blurred out due to all the speed I had), it was extremely pretty and colorful, of which could easily make an award-winning photo. It was a very vast and deep valley. The dream ended a split second after I got over the hill (and by then, I already went another 400 or so feet further).
Dream 5-62: Doggie nappers at mini department store

I'm shopping in a strange department store getting pet stuff. The department store is very small compared to the more typical ones, only 100x60 feet instead of a more typical 250x120 or something. I needed something for a dog to lay its head on. I recall spending $80 on stuff, or at least that's what I heard in the background while looking at doggie nappers (as they were called on the shelf). These objects were soft objects, often with a cartoon dog character on it, and something that takes the shape of a head. The store wasn't lit as brightly as most standard stores would be, using a 60-watt bulb instead of a 100-watt bulb (for comparison). I do recall my mom being here, like what was going on in the background. If the entrance was to the south, I was in the southeast corner in a 12x8-foot area. The checkouts were just a little to the west of the entrace area (north-northwest from the center of the entrace area). This place was supposedly in a mall as there were no doors at all to this area. I don't recall anything further.
Dream 5-63: Visiting places and an apartment fire

From what I recall, I got photos of something, but were tiny 3x2-inch printouts. Someone wanted to see them. I was at some university just visiting. I left, but not for the reason I intended. I dashed out into the far end of the parking lot. I encountered a fairly steep 3:2 slope and jumped while going up it for extreme height. I reach the van parked about 1000 feet from the university. While riding in the van, I looked at my photos, of which were a bunch of scenic pictures taken from the tops of hills I went over.
I soon stopped at this two-story house. I was supposedly just visiting. It had a balcony and an unusual shape. The balcony extended out 4 feet from the exterior wall of the building. The interior was something someone of an average income would have. There aren't many things that are fancy, but the place is huge. Each floor, using my room as a guide since I know it's measurements, covers about 4500 square feet and for two floors, not counting the balcony, that's 9000 square feet. I don't know what happens from here on, except the last four minutes.
I was told that a fire erupted in the house. I looked around, but I couldn't find it. I was then told it was on the lower floor after asking. I was on the upper floor. My parents told me to move some of the stuff out to save it. There was a pit in the main hallway that I didn't want to fall down so I was very careful around it. I used my special abilities with gliding being the main one and the other being just skillful jumping. When outside, I saw some odd weather-forecast cards. One of which is of red apples. I asked my dad what it was and he told me it was for weather forecasting. I went back in wondering about my photos and quickly realized they were in the fire area. Even then, there wasn't any smoke visible. I got one more thing and the dream ended.
Dream 5-64: Driving into the UK

I was on a trip to somewhere in a foreign country. The landscape was rather flat-looking with a few small hills here and there, but nothing big. I wasn't told where. I just ride along. About a mile before entering the foreign country, I was told that I was headed for London, England. As we approached the border gates, we switched the lanes we drove in so we were on the left side of the road instead of the right. We were the only ones on the road. The roads were otherwise empty. After a quick check of ID, we continued on into the UK.
Rather than driving on the right side of the road, we were driving on the left side. It felt so weird, we thought we needed to be in the other lane. I constantly told my parents not to switch back to being on the right side of the road. From this conflict, we often weaved back and forth. Traffic, otherwise helped. All I recall was making two turns within a small village, but that was it. Left turns were otherwise the same as right turns, but right turns were the tricky ones. I never reached the destination as the dream ended well before getting there.
Dream 5-65: An odd park with a game in a tunnel

I'm in a large park-like area, but rather empty. There are several activities around, but they are spaced far apart. The park has a lot of grassy areas with several trees, often in long lines. The grass is well-cut though a little taller (about 3 inches tall instead of 2, except pathways). I recall one activity where you were to walk through a pool of gooey mud. The mud had a nice dark brown texture to it. The pool is about 4 feet wide and 12 feet long. I also recall a tunnel where it was a rather weird type of game. I was told that this was all the easy and medium stuff. They could sense that I was more of a higher level. For the more experienced, someone pointed me to the professional version of the tunnel.
I started heading toward it. I was in a very long pathway lined with trees on both sides. The path was rather crowded and the tunnel was about 3/4 of a mile away, a rather long walk. I realized it was just much more convienient to just glide over everyone as I could get very fast, but I also avoid the crowd. In a square meter, there are about 0.8 humans on average. I jumped up 14 2/3 feet and started gliding. I pulled when someone got in the way, of which I was going about 20 mph. I had a hard time accelerating. I got too low again and pitched up again. After about a minute of this, I encounter the Pro-level tunnel.
These tunnels look very much like those tunnels hamsters mess around in. The main difference is that they are 10 feet in diameter rather than just two inches. They were half transparent. One part was orangish in color and another was blue-gray. As I entered, I looked around. I saw a sign with the number one on it, the name of the challenge game (I only recall the last part, of which ends in "pro", and it had the same name as one I encountered earlier, only with the difficulty different).
Someone, as I entered, said to be careful. I went around a 180° curve in the tunnel. The diameter of this, if it was a complete circle, is 5 feet on the inside part (which is outside the tunnel) making the outside about 25 feet in diameter. I encountered a moth with cyan-gray wings. It flew over to me and started attacking me once it landed on my back. I tried squishing it and it was badly injured, but it was digging deep into my skin rather quickly. I was weakened as a result and the dream ended after ten seconds of this. On the last attempt to get it, I was barely even able to even move the moth's wings.
Dream 5-66: Airplane flight to be above the clouds

I recall three scenes, but with only a few details. The first is where I took an airplane to see what it's like below and above the clouds. The sky was overcast. I had a camcorder with me. I recorded my flight. I wasn't flying the airplane, someone else, a licensed pilot, was. I asked if I could go to 4000 feet and I was allowed to do so. As the plane went up, I still continued to record. I reached 4000 feet and I was still in the clouds. After flying level for about 7 seconds, I could start seeing what I was after. The white tops with grays due to lighting effects. There was a flat-topped cloud with a texture appearance sort of like a mattress with the dips in it from buttons.
The second recalled scene is where I'm in a convienience store. This is where I lack details. Something was going on in the store that caused me to record it. I ended up recording over my airplane flight. The camera, from this scene, used VHS tapes. The only other thing I recall is the cashier asking if I wanted to work here, given what I've done. The dream ended about two minutes after this with no further details recalled.
Dream 5-67: House party at a friend's house

I recall a few bits here and there. There are two parts to this dream. At first, I was outside. I was in a very small town near the center. Small as in about 50 residents. I don't recall exactly what I did in what order, but I often jumped, usually 14 feet meaning I had jump 20. I also used the flash attack, but a much weaker version of it, only enough so that, when used right after jumping, would only give 70 feet of height. This makes the speed boost only 24 mph rather than the usual 100. I also recall gliding around the area. One time, while gliding, I went all the way around the block. By the time I returned, I was going 40 mph, faster than the speed limit. When I landed, someone was amazed on how fast I was going. I mentioned I've been to 60 mph. From there, I just made a few more high jumps.
The second part was indoors. I was first playing video games, but don't recall the console system nor the game. Then it was joining the dinner party. There were about a dozen here. I didn't eat anything. I recall seeing two 6-ounce bottles of wine on the table. Because I considered them "poison" as I do outside of dreams, I got extra distance from it. Being bored, I pestered two tall (6 1/2 feet tall), thin guys for something and mentioned they wouldn't do it if I pestered them again. I just told them I was bored then went off to play those games again. 15 seconds after starting up the system, supposedly a sampler disk, the dream ended.
Dream 5-68: Thief steals my checkbook

I only recall a few scenes. One of the first is where I'm walking along on sidewalks of a city where skyscrapers were (and thus a foreign city) and a thief steals my checkbook. I chase after him, into a bank, where I lost him, but my checkbook was at the counter. From the entrance of the bank, it was nothing more than turning right and walking only two or three feet to the desk. I tell the one behind the counter that the checkbook was mine. She asks for ID and I tell her it was in it. She looks at it and sees that it was indeed mine. She hands it to me and tells me to move slowly (as if a possible robber, likely for security reasons).
The last part is where I'm going in 2 or 3 stores picking stuff up off the floor. My parents were with me. My parents went shopping at what appears to be clothing stores. While they were, I was picking stuff up off the floor (like hangers and other fallen objects). The same scenario is played 2 or 3 times in 2 or 3 stores (one per store). I don't recall anything else.
Dream 5-69: A time between road trips

I don't recall the beginning, but the last 85% of the dream in parts and pieces. From what I do recall, my parents, driving 2 cars, were heading home from somewhere south (heading north). I also recall a case where one of my parents was drunk but still driving, even though I told the one not to drive. I recall a video game where it's night and I need to collect treasures. It was much like Spyro, only with somewhat higher jumps and much more life-like appearances. It was a scene from a harbor, only without any boats. At the end of the dream, I went with mom on an all-day drive to the west. The dream ended after about 2 minutes of riding in the car.
Dream 5-70: Round trip visit to grocery store driving alone

I don't recall the first 2/3 of the dream, but I do recall the ending quite well. I recall taking a trip to the grocery store. I was alone and I was driving. It was night where I'm somewhat comfortable doing so. On the side of the road near my house only a little further west, there were huge, hard-covered bool-like things. They spanned 18 by 24 inches each and there were about 100 of these books lining the road. They were each of different colors - reds, violets, blues, and occasionally greens, as far as I can recall. I did reach the grocery store and got stuff, but I have nothing recalled of this.
On the way back, I was having a hard time concentrating. I was alone and had nothing else to affect it. As a result, I was weaving in an out of lanes. When I began to concentrate again, I corrected it and drove correctly only to lose concentration again. I almost missed the turn to my house from it. I made the turn without trouble. I continued down the road to the area where those books are and I even drove on them. They weren't damaged as a result of this. It was actually some metallic structure painted to look like a book. I arrived home and it was time to put groceries away. I recall having a few of my pizzas in what I got as well as stuff for others in the house. I don't recall anything else.
Special note: An amazing thing about this dream is that it occurred only two hours before I went to the grocery store and originally, I wasn't expecting it. Even more amazing was the time I left. The sky at the time I left during the dream looked much the same, in the way of brightness anyway, as that of the real trip. This is quite fascinating. There were no strange things on the side of the road though, unlike my dream, and I wasn't alone nor driving. When I left the store, I was all alone for about 30 minutes having to wait for my parents as I went through very quickly. I indeed got pizzas and stuff for the others, but not much stuff. There was none of the "losing concentration" or "lane weaving" though at any time. This dream is about 60% indentical to what I recall compared to the real event to occur only two hours later.
