What are your travel dreams?

Ever since my "mean teacher" went to the Bahamas when I was in the 7th grade or so, I've always been interested in travel since. This interest also sparked the birth of my mind game. Since probably around 2000 or so have I had the most travel-related dreams. These dreams, in general, have a lot to do with travel and vacations with little in the way of exploration.

Noteworthy dreams in this category:
5-6: Ideas from this dream were used in my story "The Legend of the 10 Elemental Masters".
5-11: I wished that this dream would recur as I liked it a lot.
5-19: This dream hinted at an event to occur just 5 days later. By then, one of my previous neighbor's dogs (the hunter) jumped the fence and killed one of my dogs.
5-20: This dream was featured in one of my stories.
5-26: A "teacher" I had in elementary school is mentioned here.
5-28: I've called my home town's planners and things to offer a suggestion involving this dream (except a much cheaper version than what my dream mentions).
5-30: This dream may go in the exploration category. It's also one of many dreams in a burst that featured my first ever trip into Canada (on Jun 20, 2005).
5-32: This dream likely occurred due to watching too much of a particular TV show.
5-37: This dream features a software crash with a cell phone, something I've never heard of happening at the time the dream occurred.
5-38: The dream features some getting stuck in a blizzard. Just a few days later, a major blizzard struck my area causing one of my family members to not be able to return home for a day.
5-48: A rather unusual way of obtaining small cash quickly was mentioned here.
5-49: I wished that this dream would recur as I liked it a lot.
5-52: The dream is very well-recalled in terms of the scenery, but almost no story is recalled, a rare combination.
5-58: This dream still bothers me (as of Apr 10, 2007) whenever I go shopping.
5-61: This dream is liked a lot and I wished it would occur again.
5-71: This dream may belong in the "weird" category.
5-79: I found the last part of this dream quite bizarre and wished it would recur.
5-82: This strongly mimics something I do in my mind game a lot and wished more of such dreams would occur.
5-88: This dream features an inventor with a strange way of gaining lift.
5-93: I wished this dream would recur and be extended.
5-103: Despite being vaguely recalled, this dream is an oddball in that the feelings are well-recalled compared to anything else bumping the dream's in-tact rating above the scenery and story in-tact ratings, well above.
5-118: This dream has an unusually high nature rating compared to the rest - it stuck in my mind for a few days.
5-128: This dream has a great story and is probably the first that uses event undoing directly.
5-141: This dream is a high favorite with a compatibity of 200. It was stuck in my head for about a week afterwards.
5-144: This dream predicted numerous events fairly well (though indirectly as usual) in the Sep 13, 2008 vacation I had.

Dream 5-41: Having to stay at my dad's work place

I needed to do something so my dad took me. He had to go to his work place and couldn't drop me off back at home so I went. The building was kind of like an office - a light-colored grayish cyan carpet (about C0D0D0). There were those temporary walls up, walls that fold up and can be easily moved around. I was on the floor doing some math questions. I recall supposedly running around at 20 mph and telling the boss that I could run extremely fast. I don't recall much else.

Dream 5-42: A visit to Japan

Occurred on Oct 29, 2005; general - 5???; nature - 6.5??; story - X; scenery - 6??; fun - X; scary - X; weird - X; imagery - 10% in tact!; dream - 2% in tact!!

This dream has been very strongly forgotten, but all I know is that I was in Japan in one of those old-town type areas (as from a long time ago). The one scene I have recalled has sloped rooves with curved shingles on the tops curving down more quickly in the center but levelling out on the bottom. I'm in the city streets and I can see about 6 such buildings. The roads were dark gray in color (around 404040), and the area was kind of dark due to an overcast sky with dark clouds (I can't quite tell if it was raining or not though).

Dream 5-43: Neighborhood store

Occurred in early 2005; general - 5.5??; nature - 6.5?; story - 5???; scenery - 5?; fun - 6??; scary - 0?; weird - 4?; imagery - 15% in tact; dream - 10% in tact

My neighborhood is small and quite remote, but a small grocery store that seems of a very large size to the area seems unusual thus the high weird rating. Two blocks north of my neighborhood is a store. I go into it and get stuff, drinks mainly. There aren't any shops even two miles around thus this store doesn't actually exist. I recall a scene where I see a bunch of yellow drink boxes (like the fridge packs) neatly placed. The place was cheaply built - a special cover around the building posting as walls and tables with 2 legs posing as 2-level shelves (the floor was the bottom shelf and the table top was the top shelf). All I know that I did was that I went in, got my favorites, then left. I believe I was with someone. I had a very strange feeling while inside. It just felt weird.

Dream 5-44: A trip to Iraq and Domino's

Occurred on Nov 3, 2005; general - 6?; nature - 6.5?; story - 5???; scenery - 6.5; fun - 5.5??; scary - 2??; weird - 4??; imagery - 20% in tact; dream - 12% in tact

I took a trip, supposedly in Iraq. After driving along, I wanted Domino's and found it. The place is in the middle of nowhere near a gate of some sort. The scene has bright yellowish sand extending out for miles with only a rare piece of greenery (not neccessarily a cactus either). They then asked for ID. Since I didn't have one, I called my mom over. They didn't like how something was set up so I, after a short time, use my insta-teleport ability. This ability is almost never mentioned or used. To use it, jolt your right arm down very quickly with the elbow pointing toward the ground. You'll disappear and reappear somewhere else extremely fast, a considerable fraction of the speed of light even (3/4 as far as I know). I use insta-teleport to return to the van and get away. This was near the end of my dream. I don't recall anything else other than being in my home town and getting it in there.

Dream 5-45: The club visit and the smart crook

Occurred on Nov 8, 2005; general - 5.5; nature - 5; story - 7.5; scenery - 6; fun - 4.5; scary - 3; weird - 1; imagery - 70% in tact; dream - 85% in tact!

At the start of the dream, I go to a club. Details about the club are well-forgotten. When I leave the club, it was night and I see a mean-looking man coming toward us. I quickly get in and lock the doors. I tell my parents, who were driving, to take off as there was a crook on the outside of the van. The term "crank shaft", an engine part (as far as I know), comes to mind. We drove off into open, abandoned streets going fast and driving somewhat crazy to shake the crook off. One recalled scene from this point is where it is very dark (stars unsure) and the contrast with the ground is very low except our car's headlights. I think the roads were gravel rather than paved, although I do recall paved roads. We then enter the city from the south side and manage to finally shake off the crook.

I look in the back to see the crook throw a fit. He looked injured, but still ran back after us even leaving him 4 blocks behind. The traffic lights, however, weren't cooperating and turning red at every intersection. The crook caught up from this. I tell my parents that he's catching up and to hurry, but they say that the lights keep turning red. The crook catches up again and gets back under our car. We finally continue, but another red light causes problems.

I figure that, since you can turn right on red, do it. We do make a right turn on red and begin the efforts again to get rid of the crook again. More wild maneuvers are done to shake him off but details are vague on this. I don't recall much else. I do believe, however, that he was shaken off again and we returned home safely without him anywhere near.

Dream 5-46: Bike ride letter delivery gone wrong

Occurred on Nov 14, 2005; general - 5; nature - 4; story - 5; scenery - 5.5; fun - 5; scary - 1; weird - 3; imagery - 55% in tact; dream - 35% in tact

The beginning is moderately well-forgotten, but I can recall getting a letter from a little-known family member. My parents tell my sister to go deliver it. She does, heads outside, gets on her bike (the regular, nonmotorized type (having pedals)) and leaves. I watch her do this through the windows of my house. From the driveway, I watch her turn left and head off. I watch for some time and she doesn't come back. My parents say that we'll go find her.

I head outside into my dad's truck or mom's van (not sure which), but turn to the right instead. The land ahead from here looks radically different from what it really is. I recall a golf course and a speed limit sign for 30 mph in that area leaning off at a screwy angle rather than up and down. I recall seeing another speed limit sign for 80 mph sometime after this. I recall seeing a "Captain Crunch bar", which is actually more like a "Nestle Crunch Bar" instead, but that was how it was in my dream. It was in a bag with another candy, Butterfinger I think. It was in a yellow-orange package very much like that of the Butterfinger candy wrapper. A sister look-a-like was walking along the nearest nondriveway road having a black leather jacket, female, and the same hair color. I gave my parents a notice, but they ignored it. This look-a-like was with a group of about 5 others. I don't recall much else.

Dream 5-47: Canada trip and a US Civil War display

Occurred on Jan 5, 2006; general - 7.5; nature - 8!; story - 7; scenery - 6.5; fun - 7; scary - 1; weird - 4; imagery - 80% in tact!; dream - 75% in tact

The beginning part is forgotten. From where I can recall this dream, I'm heading into Canada. I recall seeing a fenced area with a gate. This area had a long, grassy pathway roughly 2 or 3 miles long. The fence is the regular type (diagonal squares made of metal, likely aluminum), along with the gate. My mother was with me in the van. We drove through the gate without any difficulties.

The next thing I recall is being at the hospital. My mother had an appointment here. I recall dashing ahead quite a ways (like at 8 mph or something). I was in the waiting room, which had a blue-green carpet and was very large in size (about 40x30 feet roughly from what I can tell). The center area about 5 feet on each side of the outer edge, was raised about 6 inches above the surrounding floor. There were dozens of chairs, a few tables, and a few toys for young kids (for around ages 3 to 7 or so). I was eating a pizza. Some of the cheese fell on the floor. Rather than eating that, I tossed it in the trash. I don't recall much about the eating part, but at the end of this hospital visit, I was writing stuff on paper, taking notes of this dream. The dream ends shortly after.

I have other recalled scenes, but don't know where they are in the story. One other scene I recall is a long pathway before that fence. I used the float run to cross it leaving my mom about 2 minutes behind (the float run is about 3 times faster than highway speed). This extra scene most likely occurred with the first encountered of this fenced area.

A second scene is where that gate was and this very long path, only heading back the other way. There was a bunch of US Civil War things there like cannons (the short type) and rifles (of which from the mid 1800's or so). The ones around this area didn't want us coming through here, but let us pass by.

A third scene is where I'm in a building. In it, I'm float-running at a low speed in this building (50 to 70 mph). I then see border patrol ahead so I slam on my brakes. I quickly realize that I wasn't going to stop in time so I made an abrupt turn toward a wall at the entrance and run into it at about 15 mph or so. No damage or anything was caused, but I stopped instantly. After this, we spoke with each other for some time. There were two guards here on each side of the "border". What we spoke about, however, that I don't know. This scene was always indoors and the border crossing was right at the entrance where I ran into the wall. I don't recall anything else about this dream though.

Dream 5-48: The fairground quarter gambling machine design flaw

Occurred on Feb 23, 2006; general - 7.5; nature - 8.3!; story - 7; scenery - 6; fun - 8.5!; scary - 1; weird - 3; imagery - 70% in tact; dream - 60% in tact

At the start of my dream, I'm at home. It's summer and my family wanta a barbeque. My sister comes over and gives me four 12-ounce cans, 2 light lemonades and 2 of something else (reddish color can, but not a soda). I recall a scene where I go up leaning over the stairs to the porch setting my cans there. I don't recall much else about this scene, however.

The next set of scenes I recall is where I'm at the fair. I first find the cottom candy area. I don't recall how I got inside, but a friendly African American lady with nicely brushed hair going an inch below the shoulders was inside. She let me watch close up some amazing tricks she could do with cotton candy. I think 5 tricks were shown. I recall something involving chocolate and another involving twisting it to form string cheese and it looked a lot like real mozarella. She then returned to normal making and selling regular cotton candy. Again, I don't recall how I got out.

I next go looking around and find a machine with a bunch of quarters inside and some object going back and forth that pushes other quarters over the edge when enough are in there. You may see a similar thing in those arcade centers where tokens are used instead and you win tickets when any go over the edge. Rather than tokens, actual money is used (quarters in this case) and you win whatever falls over the edge.

I happened to find a few quarters on the ground and began looking for the best machine. I find one and after inserting just one coin, I got a bunch of others. I play again and I continually get more quarters. I soon end up getting so many that they became hard to hold onto and carry in my big pockets. On top of that, even more were on the ground under the machine. It became too much so I traded them for a bunch of big bills, mainly 10's and 20's as I recall seeing. I probably got $70 or so. I then went back at it again still getting several dozen quarters. I informed the manager that something was screwy and was told that this place was now out of order. I helped move blocks of wood to block access to this.

I then ran around the fair grounds area, mainly among the barker stands (places where you have a simple challenge (such as throw a ball, throw a dart, or even use a machine gun to clear away a target in full) and win prizes). I ran around at usually 20 mph in the crowded area using my good braking skills to stop almost instantly (3 feet (calculated)). I soon thought I found another such place and looked around carefully for it but found nothing. Some time during the fair, I drank one of those lemonades I got, of which were stronger than the ones I mainly have. The dream ended 2 minutes after I began running around.

Dream 5-49: The basketball game in Scotland

Occurred on Mar 2, 2006; general - 8!; nature - 7.5; story - 8.7!; scenery - 7; fun - 6.5; scary - 1; weird - 2; imagery - 65% in tact; dream - 75% in tact

At the start of the dream, I was somewhere else in the world, but don't recall what I was doing or where I was. From where I can recall, however, I was in Scotland with someone driving in the parking lot to park. The parking lot had all sorts of curves involved making it the weirdest one I've ever seen. The parking lot was packed so it took a while to find a parking space. I was about to enter a building 30 floors high (about 400 feet).

As I enter the building, I see 6 basketball hoops, a few desks where tickets for the game are sold. I'm supposedly with a group, but I can't tell if I was or not for sure. I then ask where all the stands are, what the cameras on the sides are for, and, I think, the reason why some ceilings were low. The manager says that they are mainly run on closed circuit TV. I was to go to the top floor.

At the top floor, I saw a crowd near a central window. From what I can tell, there seems to be about 90 to 100 grouped there. I figured that they were looking down so I go on the edge to the right of the group as I faced them (if the group was facing north, I headed east). However, there's a glass wall there and I can only see an additional 20 floors down with 10 others hidden. I go for some additional height (such as using a stood or step ladder) which allows me to see all 30 floors, but no hint of the game. I couldn't go higher because of the ceiling which was in my way. I try the other side (the west side) without any luck there.

Seemingly out of luck in that I can't watch the game, I return to where the crowd was where I saw magazines. I looked through them and saw ads using the monetary pounds symbol, £, which gave me strong evidence I was in some foreign country. I look at other magazines and see the same thing.

Known friends show up and saw me. They ask me what I was doing in Scotland. At the time I was asked, I was leaning against the wall far from the center but closest to the crowd thinking on what I could do. I think it was who I nicknamed "Bill Nye" that asked. I was then told that there were TVs here to watch the game on. I went on the west side again and saw two TVs. The TV the crowd watched had pictures of what the basket ball game had and was a monster 100-inch flat screen. On the west side, there was a 30-inch flat screen that showed an overview of the court showing where the players were (? not sure if the players were indicated) and where the ball was (the ball I'm sure on). It also showed the score. I only watched 4 minutes of the game and the game ended. I recall 81 as one of the scores, but I don't know which team had it or even what the teams were. At the end, I left the area.

Sometime earlier than the friends coming part, I got groceries, mainly getting things meant for room temperature such as chips. I was about to pay for what I had until I realized I forgot something. The money I saw was much like the US bills only much more colorful (I recall orange and blue as well as seeing a ten and a twenty (not in any order).). I don't recall much about this.

I was then told to drive through the parking lot. After pulling out, I was told that I was going the wrong way. Wrong way as in not going toward where I needed to go (as in going north instead of south). I make a U-turn where one of the cars almost runs into me because I didn't bother checking. I do get to where I needed. The dream ends about 5 seconds after the U-turn episode.

Dream 5-50: Special shopping trip with a group

Occurred on Mar 19, 2006; general - 6???; nature - 6.5???; story - X; scenery - 6??; fun - 6???; scary - X; weird - 2???; imagery - 8% in tact!; dream - 4% in tact!

Although vaguely recalled, I recall only 3 things. In this dream, I recall being with a group on a special trip. The first is that I'm at a strange shop of some sort, like a souvenir shop. In this shop, there were quite a few shelves. One shelf had huge milk chocolate (dark-colored) candies in the shape of a satellite, a phere with long lines coming out, like those put in orbit around Earth. Some shelves had simple manual games (not electronic ones). I don't recall what else was on the shelves.

The second part recalled has vaguely recalled scene. I do recall being outside this shop and gliding around. There was nothing but grass all around and a few trees in rows a few hundred feet from the building. I do recall being in another shop or building, but I have no recalled scenes or events with it.
