What are your travel dreams?
Ever since my "mean teacher" went to the Bahamas when I was in the 7th grade or so, I've always been interested in travel since. This interest also sparked the birth of my mind game. Since probably around 2000 or so have I had the most travel-related dreams. These dreams, in general, have a lot to do with travel and vacations with little in the way of exploration.
Noteworthy dreams in this category:
5-6: Ideas from this dream were used in my story "The Legend of the 10 Elemental Masters".
5-11: I wished that this dream would recur as I liked it a lot.
5-19: This dream hinted at an event to occur just 5 days later. By then, one of my previous neighbor's dogs (the hunter) jumped the fence and killed one of my dogs.
5-20: This dream was featured in one of my stories.
5-26: A "teacher" I had in elementary school is mentioned here.
5-28: I've called my home town's planners and things to offer a suggestion involving this dream (except a much cheaper version than what my dream mentions).
5-30: This dream may go in the exploration category. It's also one of many dreams in a burst that featured my first ever trip into Canada (on Jun 20, 2005).
5-32: This dream likely occurred due to watching too much of a particular TV show.
5-37: This dream features a software crash with a cell phone, something I've never heard of happening at the time the dream occurred.
5-38: The dream features some getting stuck in a blizzard. Just a few days later, a major blizzard struck my area causing one of my family members to not be able to return home for a day.
5-48: A rather unusual way of obtaining small cash quickly was mentioned here.
5-49: I wished that this dream would recur as I liked it a lot.
5-52: The dream is very well-recalled in terms of the scenery, but almost no story is recalled, a rare combination.
5-58: This dream still bothers me (as of Apr 10, 2007) whenever I go shopping.
5-61: This dream is liked a lot and I wished it would occur again.
5-71: This dream may belong in the "weird" category.
5-79: I found the last part of this dream quite bizarre and wished it would recur.
5-82: This strongly mimics something I do in my mind game a lot and wished more of such dreams would occur.

5-103: Despite being vaguely recalled, this dream is an oddball in that the feelings are well-recalled compared to anything else bumping the dream's in-tact rating above the scenery and story in-tact ratings, well above.
5-118: This dream has an unusually high nature rating compared to the rest - it stuck in my mind for a few days.
5-128: This dream has a great story and is probably the first that uses event undoing directly.
5-141: This dream is a high favorite with a compatibity of 200. It was stuck in my head for about a week afterwards.
5-144: This dream predicted numerous events fairly well (though indirectly as usual) in the Sep 13, 2008 vacation I had.
Dream 5-21: The unusual flight to California

Now, an airplane flight usually has several dozen seats, however, this airplane was just plain weird. At the start of the dream, I was inside an unusual airplane (the commercial type). Instead of seats, this airplane had rooms with large hallways (If you think the Airbus 380 is big, it seems like this airplane has five times the volume!). I can recall using room 16 or 30. Along the way, I thought about visiting one of the forum members from HWW in Simi Valley. In my room area, one of the neighbors had a puppy. Details around here are very vague until the plane lands.
Upon landing, I was packing up my belongings, mostly clothes. I saw my neighbors in this area (those with rooms near me) and one of them showed a puppy which appears to weigh about 6 pounds or so. I don't remember the color of the dog's fur, however. A skip occurs and I can recall myself asking the crew members to allow me to get back on the plane to finish packing my stuff. The belongings were in a box that was about 3 feet on all sides, about that of what my new monitor came in. One of the crew members, who was female with bushy black hair, was watching me as I packed my stuff. Suddenly, this doggie toy of a 0040E0 color with a F00020-colored tongue flashed for a short moment then got buried under my clothes. The crew member made me dig it out to show her what it was. I then got a chance to look out the window and I saw a city with quite a few high rise buildings (usually 5 or more stories each though, from the distance I had, from 40 to 80 stories at the highest).
Recalled scenes:
1. I see a number on the side of my room area (either 16 or 30, I can recall a 30 in my dream well, but the 16 is unclear, but possible). The rooms are about 6 by 6 feet by about 8 feet high. In my room is a 3 by 3 by 3 box very much like the one my new monitor came in (only, without the markings).
2. Sometime between the beginning part and the end of the long skip, I was thinking about being able to see one of the forum members who's location is Simi Valley. I have no images of this time area.
3. I can clearly see the number 30 marked on the wall (The digits are about 3 to 4 inches tall.) and I can see a puppy of about 6 pounds (by appearance compared to my real dogs). I can't recall the color well, but it was dark for at least 90% certainty. I'm thinking brown or black.
4. After another skip, I'm in the terminal area and I ask one of the crew members if I can get back on the plane to finish packing my belongings, which were 99% clothing. I see a rounded desk of a medium-dark gray of about 606060. Behind the desk were two security guards. I can't recall what they were wearing though. I can also recall seeing this female with black hair (or perhaps something very close to black) which was a crew member. I asked for permission to get back on the plane and finish packing my belongings.
5. I'm in my room area on the plane with the box. I'm picking up clothes that were scattered everywhere and threw them in the box. For about a third to a half of a second, this dog toy made of cloth of a 0040E0 color and a F00020-colored tongue sticking out also made of cloth. It was a stuffed toy. That lady saw it and made me take it out to see what it was (as for security reasons). I dug it out rather quickly (like within a second or two) and showed her. I then resumed what I was doing.
Dream 5-22: The train ride

Yet another one of my train-related dreams, only this time, even more vaguely remembered. All I have is one still scene. In the scene, I see some bright white concrete sides that highly reflected sunlight. I can see a building to the left side of my central field of view, brownish I think, but details are very vague. I think this area was in the city, but, I'm not fully certain on it.
Dream 5-23: The farm visit

Farms aren't my type of thing I have interests in, although I live around tons of them. This farm was more of an animal farm than a plant farm. An animal farm is where animals are raised, typical farm animals like horses, pigs, cows, etc.. A plant farm is where plants are grown in huge fields such as corn fields, flax fields, sunflower fields, etc.. I can recall being surrounded by fences all over. One fenced area was rather small, about 4 to 6 foot square. Details about this dream are very vague. I can recall that the square size for the fence pattern (which were squares, not diamonds (aka, rhombi)) was about a half an inch or a centimeter on each side (don't remember which). It was a maze trying to figure out how to get around here as well.
Dream 5-24: Another train ride

This is yet another one of my train dreams. In this dream, the setting is dark and the area is lit by a dim yellowish light. The seats and stuff were black or close to it. I can recall a crew member walking along the center area a few times. He/she had a hat, but, due to the lighting conditions, it was hard to pick out details of what he/she was and the related.
Dream 5-25: Deep holes and grandma's house visit

Though this dream isn't remembered that well, I can recall the most important things. In the dream, I was trying to visit my grandma's house, however, when we got to her house, there were these gigantic holes everywhere that were very deep. To get to granny's house, I had to be very careful, otherwise I'd slip and fall into the holes. Near the house were a bunch of smaller holes but still, they were deep and you could only see black. Further from granny's house was this gigantic canyon on reddish and orangish-colored rocks with a bit of yellowish-colored ones as well. From what I can tell, the canyon was like 3 or 4 miles deep, so deep, I didn't want to bother trying to get into it. It was quite scary getting past these holes safely.
Then, to top that off, I went and visited another grandma in the area, only on the opposite side. There, too, were gigantic holes around there and it was even harder to get to the house safely, one case having to jump across the holes. Fortunately, during what I can recall, nothing gave way or anything like that. This dream was quite scary.
Recalled scenes:
1. I see one of my grandma's houses (supposedly, but doesn't look like it), and surrounding it, for about 50 feet all around, are holes that are extremely deep and like 3 or 4 miles or so as a guess. At the other side of the house from where we parked, there was this huge canyon seemingly about 20 miles wide or something (it could be from 5 to up to 50 or so miles wide) and it appeared to be about 3 to 4 miles deep. From my point of view, I couldn't see the bottom so I couldn't tell.
2. I see another one of my grandma's house and it, too, has a lot of those deep holes around it. Details are more vague with this scene, however.
Dream 5-26: Visit to old teacher's house

For a first, I've had a dream in which a different teacher (one not otherwise mentioned in any of my other dreams) was involved, one from my elementary years that I liked. Her name was Mrs. Solberg. In the dream, I visited her house, which was in a farm-like area with a large yard. Inside the house was a bunch of picnic tables. There were some paintings lying around as well, but I don't recall what they were of. Outside this, unfortunately, I can't recall much else.
Dream 5-27: Store robbery, sister and school work, and tree climbing

A store robbery isn't all that common, even less common when you're at the store at the time of the robbery. In this dream, a store robbery occurred, but the robbery failed, mainly because of my skills. When I'm about to leave the store, I see some crooks enter. I immediately head for the exit to escape possible mayhem, however, I somehow get disorientated and run in and out of the store - at 20 mph even. I eventually begin fighting with them trying to prevent their gun from firing (except straight up or straight down). I eventually take the gun away from them and threw it far too the side on the floor.
At home, my sister shows me a piece of paper she made in typing class. The typing class teacher named seemed familiar, but kind of didn't. I don't remember the name, however, but I'm moderately certain that it was a guy's name.
After another skip, because someone was to supposedly come, I was climbing around on trees. The trees were only branches and had smooth bark. The wood was of a whitish color. The trees went up to about 50 feet or so, likely more. My sister points me to a tree that'll get you up higher, but only accessible from the roof. Outside this, I don't know anything else about this dream.
Recalled scenes:
1. I'm a department store (like Wal-mart or Kmart) and near the checkouts supposedly empty-handed. I see the exit doors and see crooks in a dark blue denim shirt with a black ski mask. I head straight for the exit in another area at high speed. However, once I exit, I become disorientated. Somehow, upon exiting, it's as if my speed and heading got converted to going the exact opposite way back into the store. I noticed it and went back the other way. The same thing happened again and two more times. I was running at like 20 mph most of the time.
2. I'm in a fight with both crooks and I find the gun being the most important thing to block usage of and, because of my high speed, I manage to grab it and discard it without a bullet being fired. Then, some physical fighting began, but I got out of it rather quickly (I don't think many can even run at 20 mph).
3. I'm seeing a typing report that my sister created for school. The title of the report, in about font size 108, was at the top, the teacher's name, which was rather familiar, was in the center in about size 18 or so. I think there was something at the bottom, but can't say what it was or even how big it was.
4. I'm climbing around on trees standing 6 feet above the ground looking around for ways to get up even higher. I see my sister pointing to a tree branch very close to the roof that I could use to get more height. Details with this scene are vague. All I can recall is a bunch of trees very much like how my house's trees are. However, the trees were of a very bright, moderately reflective white color making them hard on my eyes.
Dream 5-28: My home town history drive-through tour

Do you ever wonder what your home town looked like... from when it was first born to how it is now? What about as an interactive drive-through tour? Now that would be awesome and it just so happened in this dream. A historic overview of my home town was represented. I was riding this city bus touring the city in each decade. From the 1920's (maybe earlier) all the way to the present, I could preview what the city looked like during those days. In the 1940's, there was this green pathway about ten feet wide that was lined mainly with red and white flowers. There were some trees to the side of the pathway. The trip was mainly from the center of town toward the north. Even the area where I live was of importance. It was a tent city; there were a lot of tents around the area. This is supposedly exactly how my home town first came to be. The later periods showed dazzling lights on the buildings. It was moderately exciting, though boring to some extent. Not much else can be recalled with this dream though.
Recalled scenes:
1. The center of town was of old brick buildings that looked old and worn out.
2. The 1940's area, about a mile further north or so, had a pathway lined with red and white flowers spaced about a foot or so apart, probably as a memorial from World War II. There was a black (or dark bluish) iron fence with bars spacing the top and bottom rails. The fence is about 4 feet high or so and the bars are spaced about 6 inches apart or so.
3. The 1970's area had an overlook of the city, which had dazzling lights on the tops which faded in and out slowly.
4. On the final road to my home, there were a bunch of tents on the sides of the roadways. They were mostly of a whitish yellow color.
Dream 5-29: A hotel stay over

This is my first dream that I can recall in which I was actually staying over for the night and it was sleeping time. This hotel, however, is a little weird, especially the upper floors. Unlike most hotels, this hotel has hardly anything in the way of decoration. The setting is night and the building is only lit through light bulbs. The brick walls and wooden doors are of a brownish color near 804020. My sister had her own room while me and my mother had a separate room. The upper floors of the hotel were misty and the mist itself was strange and thick. The mist started about two floors up from where I was. The strange thing about the mist is that it only hovers near the ceiling. Below the "bottom", it abruptly becomes clear, but becomes thick very quickly, within a mere inch or two to full opacity. The hotel, from what I can recall, had five floors. I can't recall what floor any of this stuff was on, my room and the mist.
I don't recall much in the way of the story behind this dream, however, what I can recall is that I explored the upper floors where I discovered the thick mist, went to the bathroom twice, once in the normal way and another time through my sister's room. My sister's room had a stereo (CD player with sufficiently large speakers). The other part recalled is where my mom was returning some movies. They had a special going on, but you couldn't get it when returning the movies during the night. All but one of seven movies were returned, the most expensive one was still kept. Outside that, hardly anything else is known.
Recalled scenes:
1. I'm two floors up from my room. There's a dense mist starting about five feet above the floor. The mist goes from fully absent to fully visible in just two seconds and it's so dense that you can't see through it. The walls are of a brownish color and so are the doors.
2. I'm in my sister's room in the hotel. I see a stereo with speakers about 5 inches wide by about 8 inches tall. The room is quite a mess with clothes lying around everywhere but about 40% of the visible floor (not including parts under the bed, dresser, nightstands, stuff otherwise hiding it well) was actually visible, the other 60% was covered with clothes. The bathroom seemed a little old. A metallic sink like that of aluminum and a toilet seemingly made of something else (porclein? (sp.?)) was also clearly visible. My sister's room was a floor above where my room was, but it wasn't in the mist area, totally unaffected by it.
3. I'm at the movie return area, which is like a video store, but all I see is a small part of a video rack and the desk where you pay rental fees. In the back was a sign indicating the specials going on, but the specials were announced verbally as well. I recall seeing my mom having 7 movies and returning 6 of them keeping the other one. The video store was very much like the hotel was, and I believe the video store was on the bottom floor which makes me think that my room was on the second floor, my sister's room on the third and the mist starting on the fourth. I can't recall where I got the fact that the hotel was five stories, probably because of seeing stairs going up in the mist area.
Dream 5-30: Gliding my Canada trip route

On Jun 20, 2005, I took a trip into Canada. This dream, occurring 13 days later, sort of replicated this trip in terms of the route, only made more fun. In this dream, I took practically the same route I took when on my trip into Canada. Since it was taking too long for something, I started gliding home. I was getting very fast at around 150 mph average speed, usually around 300 feet above the ground. I probably may have peaked to around 200 mph as well, the kinds of speed I'm more used of due to my mind game. During the highest speeds for gliding, during this beginning part, I was gliding around trees. I soon came across a steep hill dropping about 400 feet down. I could see a fairly large town in the distance, about 1 mile away.
The dream skips aways where I'm now at home seemingly coming after someone. This episode was very short-lived. At some point during this, I was crashing through windows in a school at around 50 mph (while gliding). One time (and there were several cases of it), I was in a school. Some staff were after me so, when I crashed through the windows, I hid behind some vehicles and made an abrupt left turn making me behind a large house so no one from the school could see me at all.
Afterwards, I was in an old computer area in which the computers seemed military-like (big and bulky). You had to have the password to do anything with these computers which adds strongly to the impression that they're military-like. They had huge 30-inch monitors and were running Windows 98. I can't recall much else about this dream.
Recalled scenes:
1. I see a lot of trees around and gliding about 300 feet above the ground at around 150 mph. Everything whizzes by quite fast. The ground is covered with grass almost always of the same greenish color. There are some trees around, but not many.
2. I see a hill up ahead and a town about a mile away. The hill's slopes are somewhat steep, about a 5:2 slope ratio. The hill, from the top to the bottom, drops about 400 feet (given some math and this is ± 100 feet).
3. I'm inside a school and I'm gliding through it at 50 mph (and they say "no running", 50 mph is 5 times faster!). I crash through a window to get into the building but, in less than a second, I'm already at the other side and crash through the other window. I had a feeling the staff was going to catch me so I strongly focused toward picking up speed and hiding. I glide behind a van (There are cars parked on the side of the road, the van was the first one, but I had to make sharp turns to hide behind it successfully.), and hover close to the ground (at even 60 mph) and then make an abrupt left turn pulling up behind a two-story house of, I think, a red color.
4. I'm in a computer room and I'm looking at these big, bulky machines. The central computer was three times bigger and was about 10 feet across or so with a huge 30-inch flat screen monitor above all that suspended from the wall and/or ceiling (not sure exactly). The display on the monitor was like that of Windows 98, the only Windows Operating system that I know very well in terms of the looks. The resolution seemed to be about 50% bigger that what I'm using (or 2400x1800; I run at 1600x1200).
