What are your nightmares?
Nightmares are very rare to me and what nightmares I do get are often just barely into the category. That is, if 4 times scarier than neutral and it doesn't fit any category, it'd go here, and this happens to be the most common case, although it would otherwise be rare (as with the fun and weird categories). Only the first one's details are left out as it's not suitable for a younger audience.
Noteworthy dreams in this category:
4-1: This dream is the scariest of all my dreams with no other dream even coming close to it. It's worse than even the opposite of the best of all my dreams at -900 compatibility. Even though it occurred around 2000, it still haunts me nearly a decade later. It's very graphic, as if watching a horror show with a TV-MA-V (TV-MA with excessively high violence). Due to this, I will not post any details about it, not even in E-mails. Only suitable things are mentioned just enough to give an idea on what the dream was basically about, but that's as close as I'm going to get.
4-2: This dream is a featured event in one of my stories, "The Legend of the 10 Elemental Masters".
4-3: This is the only dream where I actually "died".
4-5: I've tried twice to make an interactive story out of it. This is the second scariest of all my dreams, but is nothing compared to dream 4-1.
Dream 4-1: The deadly experiment

This is the scariest of all my dreams and still, even though it occurred in 2000, I can recall just how horrifying this dream/nightmare was. It's too horrifying to mention some of the details. I'll, however, give some basics about this dream. This dream featured someone actually having to live in a pool of water. He couldn't get out of it, otherwise [censored!] would happen to him. I think that this is about all I can mention.
Recalled scenes:
1. A scientist was experimenting with some stuff and poured something into a pool of water. The pool was in an enclosed room.
2. Someone wanted to go swimming so he jumped into the pool. Still, the dream isn't bad to this point.
3. When the guy tried to get out of the pool, well, it's too horrifying to mention and this is when the nightmare began.
4. Realizing that [censored!] happened, the guy got right back into the pool and started wading around. This part was the boring part, but still scary.
5. The guy then jumped and [censored!] happened. The guy started to feel pain.
6. Someone told the guy that he had to get out of the pool as they were shutting down. This is where the "TV-MA-V" part comes in, after this.
Dream 4-2: The haunted island

This was a very interesting dream that occurred while I was writing my story "The Rise of Atlantis". This dream gave me a superior idea for the plot. This dream had a large portion of it on an island. Though much of what happened in this dream has been forgotten, I do remember the scariest part of the dream. It was just about a minute left to the island's destruction. Just before so, I started to see a line of trees suddenly and quickly be pulled under the island. In the background was a huge wall of a very dark black substance. Also coming was a large jet that was flying by. I saw it, jumped up and grabbed on to it just before the black substance came. The airplane took off speeding up to escape from it and eventually the dream ended.
Recalled scenes:
1. I'm exploring an island and all seems well. Good weather with a few cumulous clouds and a pretty blue sky. I was by a house and there was a lone line of pine trees.
2. The sky slowly grows darker and I become scared. It was as if some evil force was causing this to happen. Everything seemed normal, however, except for the sky darkening. The sky darkens to the west but remains light toward the east.
3. About a minute later, the sky is very dark to the west but still normal to the east. Toward the west, I see a low-flying airplane hovering above the ground and trees being plowed under as if something was beneath them pulling on them. 50-foot trees were plowed under in about a tenth of a second.
4. (animated) I'm running along the ground with the airplane. Someone says to quickly get on the plane. I look behind me and notice that the trees were really being plowed under and this effect was gaining on me and the plane. I run as fast as I can, which is like 70 mph or so and jump onto the airplane. The airplane speeds up leaving the strange effects behind.
Dream 4-3: The disease

This was a fun dream that soon turned into a nightmare. This dream gives an insight on what it's like to actually die, the only dream (since Jan 26, 2005), in which I've died in. This dream occured toward the end of August of 2004, when my luck was at dangerously low levels, deep in the negatives (from the luck graph). It was over a year past due from the usual 3 or 4 years time it takes that I usually end up getting a nightmare. The last one I had was in June or July of 1999, based on dream 3-2, so this one took 5 years to occur again, well past due. Indeed, I had a dream, fun at first, that gradually became a night mare.
The dream took place in a city during day. I was hopping around gliding around and having all sorts of fun. My parents were in this dream, but only at the beginning. After the fun, I was waiting by a building waiting for my mom to get some groceries (this was during the time in which I was nearly out of food and mom refused to get me some). She was taking too long so I went in after her. I found her but then I started realizing minor pains making movement a little tough. When she finally finished, she drove me home.
At home, I was playing around a little, but having difficulties. Sometime later in this dream, during evening with an orange-like sky where the Sun was setting, I was having a lot of difficulties moving around. I started to head into the forest nearby (my home state lacks forests as far as I know, so this took place outside my home state). I glid most of my way there as it was faster (gliding allows 800 mph tops speed).
When in the forest, it was night. I dropped down onto the ground after stopping normally. I landed fairly softly as I didn't have much height. I walked around a bit, listening to owls hooting and other monsters making small noises. I was sort of lost but I eventually became disorientated and unable to see where I was going. Later on, I fell to the ground and couldn't get up on my own. I slid along the ground until I passed out for good.
Luckily this was just a dream and not reality. The ending part was extremely scary and frightening, and I sort of have an idea what it's like to die from this odd dream.
Dream 4-4: The demonic ghost

A demonic ghost in my dream, let alone a ghost in general, is very rare. This dream wasn't all that bad; it's a borderline nightmare (not quite a nightmare, but scary enough to be considered one). This dream took place inside a building. It was lit up by 40-watt lightbulbs (in other words, it was a bit dark in there but you can still easily see where you're going). In this dream, I was with, I think 5 or 6 other humans. Looming inside this building was an evil spirit.
Though the storyline has been somewhat forgotten, it was a normal night inside the building. We were just basically on duty to clean up the place (as if we were janitors). Suddenly, there was a strange presence visible of a very dark color. It made the lights flicker. I got very scared so I casted lighten, a spell that makes you a light source emitting white light (about as bright as a 70-watt light bulb would do). The room lit up even brighter than those other lights did and suddenly those other lights went out. The other janitors ran to me as they were protected from my light. That light couldn't be removed unless they could take my hit points away or drain all my energy.
Then, a huge hose-like object came by and seemingly vacuumed us up. We were placed in a huge waste basket. I thought of a way to escape and quickly came up with the teleport spell. It worked well. Then, I found some seats and everyone, except myself, got seated. I stuck close to them so they can use my light. I waited for the evil spirit to strike again, but nothing happened, but I, as well as everyone else, felt scared for the 20 minutes or so that we waited. Past here, I don't know what happened, but gradually, everyone calmed down, including myself. Still, I kept my light emission going throughout the entire wait.

Sometimes, my dreams get very mysterious and strange. Though this dream could belong in the "weird" category, it's been placed here as it was very scary. It starts in my old bedroom. It was night with my small movable lamp turned on. I was going about my usual nightly business on the floor (I don't sleep on beds). My room was a mess. Everywhere you looked, there were some books, papers, trash, and other sorts of stuff. Of my 132-square-foot room (It has been measured), I had but 1/3 of that space available.
After some time doing my usual stuff, I suddenly saw a strange red light that I couldn't explain. It was moving about a centimeter per second and was about 5 millimeters in diameter. It was as if a laser was pointing at that direction, but there wasn't any laser anywhere nearby. I searched my surroundings and couldn't find a source. I then placed a few objects in the path of the strange red light. Nothing happened. I then started to place other objects in it's path and nothing happened.

Suddenly, without warning, the light turned green. It was moving twice as fast as the original red light, but it was the same size. I placed a napkin in front of the light and to my amazement, the napkin vaporized where the light moved. I got scared and started to move to a different spot. I moved and placed other various objects in the path of the light and the path the light went through was where the object was vaporized. It was as if the light was causing heat as hot as the Sun's surface (or 11,000 degrees Fahrenheit). Shocked, I decided to escape from my room. No one was outside the room so I freely moved around the house. I noticed that there were no other lights around, however, a short while later, I saw the wall vaporized about where the light was going.
Now being scared that the house was going to cave in and hurt myself, I grabbed the car keys and fled the house. I started the car up and drove off (at this time, I couldn't drive, nor did I even have a license nor permit, but thankfully, it was just a dream). In the roadway, I saw a bunch of red and green lights and a few blue lights as well. The blue lights moved twice as fast as the green lights (four times faster than the original red light) and they vaporized anything they touched, including the road and dirt below forming extremely deep holes. I soon came across a "barrier" of these lights which made it impossible to proceed any further. I looked around and noticed that it was safe to go into the ditch in the side of the road. I went into this area and managed to get around the lights.
However, when I was heading back up the slopes again, I saw a strange object floating above my head. I soon paniced (uncertain spelling; past tense of "panic") and raced back home to find a lot more of these lights. I then thought I was going to be abducted by aliens, so I stayed in the car to be safe. I tried to go everywhere I could to flee from these dangerous lights. However, everywhere I went, I couldn't escape as there would be more lights everywhere. I can't recall any more past this point.
Dream 4-6: Sinking to infinite depths

Though strongly forgotten, I was playing around in my back yard. I soon come across some quicksand and begin sinking into it. Some tried to help me out, but they couldn't do anything. By the time I was in up to my chest, they let go of me and I began to sink further and further. I knew that I was going to die at this point, but, by the time I was 50 feet under, the dream ended. Thankfully it was only a dream though.
Dream 4-7: A dog comes #1

Now how can a dream featuring dogs be considered a nightmare? Well, this dream, indeed, was quite scary. Though very strongly forgotten (thankfully), a dog strongly disliked comes into the area outside the fence. Someone was about to shoot it but I prevented that from happening. Not much else is known about this dream.
Dream 4-8: A dog comes #2

Almost a repeat of the first version, this dream, too, has been quite strongly forgotten (thankfully). The same dog from the above dream, which was strongly disliked, came into our yard. Someone shot it. The only other thing recalled is an opening in the fence surrounding the entire front yard in which the dog got in through.
Dream 4-9: I get shot

I'm in my dad's truck going somewhere. Its "slow day" where every one is supposed to be slow. When going down North Hill, I see a small airplane following along the road 20 feet above and it stalls going too slow. I stop at a gas station. My dad opens my door for no reason. I close it after I realize he doesn't need it open. I was cold. After closing it, he reopens it. He still doesn't do anything so I close it again. He reopens it and I quickly close it on him. The door gets closed 5 or 6 times total as far as I know. I tell him that he doesn't need it open. He points a gun at me. I cover it with my fist and he fires twice (in a similar way cartoons have it). It was a weak gun though. I try to wrestle with him and takes out another gun. He fires that one and does serious injury to me.
My father is never actually like this. Strangely enough, after I wake up, the power went out for about two minutes after one minute of being awake. The dream started off peacefully, but was rather scary at the end.
Recalled scenes:
1. Everything is going by slowly. If the speed limit was 40 mph, cars would only be going 25 mph.
2. Upon going down North Hill, a hill on the north side of my home town, I watch an airplane just 20 feet above the ground eventually stall and lands on the road from it. This was off to my side, however.
3. I'm at a gas station where I can see four pumps. A battle with the door occurs.
4. My dad points a gun at me and I block it with my left hand palm at the other end of the thumb far from the fingers. I get shot here twice. I wrestle the gun and he fires another one doing serious injury.
Dream 4-10: The crunchy fireball

I don't recall much, as I have one recalled scene and almost no story. The scene is where I have a jalapeno-shaped red (or dark gray when cooled) fireball wrapped in a towel with water running. When running water on it, flakes come off of it. I try despirately to break it. When not in the running water, the fireball would start glowing and get hot fast unless in the water. After even 4 minutes of trying, the fireball lost a lot of reddish flakes, but didn't break or anything and the dream ended after 5 minutes of trying. I don't recall anything before this event, however.
