A replicated animated scene from one of my top favorite mud dreams.
What are your mud dreams?
These dreams are rather weird to most. As far as I can tell, the earliest of my mud dreams was back in the year 2000 or possibly 1999. While I watching a show on TV during around 1998 or 1999 or something, I was seeing a bunch of humans standing in waist-deep mud handing sandbags between each other. Later on, when I wrote "The Story of the Wonderful Adventure", the second episode, it featured a huge flood of mud just like this. In my very first version of "Rise of Atlantis" (now known as "The Legend of the 10 Elemental Masters"), during the Mount Everest part, there was a bit of mud walking as well. I think from here on is when I started having frequent mud dreams. It was the unusually high amount of mud dreams that I was getting that caused my dream journal to be born and it has grown enormously since then.
Noteworthy dreams in this category:
1-1: This is my top favorite of all my mud dreams. I get a lot of mind game events featuring this place with it's very simple-looking scene (highly monotonic), easily reproduced in scenes for games.

1-36: This dream had the Mythbusters going in mud and just 3 days later, I saw a show with a strikingly similar sinking behavior as the dream showed.
Dream 1-31: School jungle mud pool

Though vaguely remembered, I have one high-detailed scene from this dream recalled. In this scene, I'm in the backyard of a school where there's a dense tropical jungle, lots of plants, and a fence. Right where the fence is is where a big pool of gooey but warm mud is that I go in and walk around in. The mud, a light brown color (near C06030) was as deep as 3 inches below the bottom of my neck. It was very bright outside. I don't recall much else about this dream.
Dream 1-32: Colored mud pools around a company

In this dream, there were about 10 or so colored mud pools around a building. Yellow, red, blue, and brown are recalled colors. The building is in an empty area in some high spot, a cliff-side in particular. The setting was at night and the building's exterior was lit well. I "owned" most of the mud pools - the boss or an employee (not sure which) owned one as well and didn't want me in it. There were two floors of mud pools, seemingly like quicksand. The pools, from my recalled scene, are about 6 feet wide and close to 12 feet long. The depth is unknown. The upper floor had more pools as well. I had all of the lower floor ones. I recall a worker giving theirs to me as she didn't like it. Her name began with M, Melissa I believe. There were almost no clouds and the setting was at night. I don't recall anything else though.
Dream 1-33: The mud river walking tradition

Unlike all my dreams, this one is well-liked, weird, and remarkably in tact down to the fine details even. It even has a good story to it. The story is so long, however, that it has been put into a separate document. You can read the story here. To summarize, however, I was watching a CNN news article about a mud river walking tradition in India and I go there myself. A crook comes a long and I save the day getting a very nice reward from it.
Dream 1-34: Huge basement mud swimming pool

Although strongly forgotten, this dream featured mud, thin and gooey that one could easily walk around in it or play in it. The one scene I recall is where I'm in a dirt basement. In the sand area, the low-lying areas, there was mud. I'm not sure on the depth, but 4 feet seems about right. The scene shows a large open field in a huge basement 120 feet back and 100 feet on the sides (size not fully certain, but the 6:5 ratio is highly certain; based on from the entrance). There was something else as well related to the mud, likely more fun with it in a different area, but don't recall any scenes of it. A sky bridge (one suspended above the ground, often connecting two buildings) involved near the end. The bridge is about 18 feet long by about 4.5 feet wide, based on calculations using my room (with known measurements accurate to the inch) as a guide. I don't recall what happened, but the scene is an aerial view about 30 feet above it looking almost straight down.
Dream 1-35: Lake shore cleaning

This dream has 3 parts. The first is where I'm at a lake. I reach it and play around in it for some time. I don't recall anything else about this part.
The second part is where me and my sister were to clean the lake. All we had to do was simply walk through the water along the shore. I went in four feet deep or a foot above my waist. I stood still in the water at times. The water was so muddy, you couldn't see any more than one foot under the surface, barely able to see my orange-colored swimsuit. The mud at the bottom of the lake was made of fine particles but was 2 to 3 inches deep causing you to sink down into it quite a bit, up to the ankles. By me stirring it up, I could reduce the visibility to just four inches. I went a long distance around the lake until I reached a possible source of the mud, the third part. The beach had medium-dark sand, the water had 2-inch wave heights and the lake seems to be about 1.2 to 1.5 miles across from the best I can tell. Across the lake are some trees and houses, but they are hard to make out.
Here, in this dirt-packed area not in the water, the sand was much like that of quicksand so my sister and I went around this area looking for a source. There's no water here, except in low-lying areas near the entrance of this area generally ten feet below the average height of the upper parts. There are several hills and valleys. Some vertical cliffs were also around. At the far end, where it was tricky to get around in, you could sink 1 to 1.5 inches per second and you either had to move fast, sink, or try to float in it. The upper area of the far end was the easy part, but the lower area was the hard part as you sank in it about 4 to 5 inches per second. It was deep quicksand and you had to move in it very quickly or sort of swim through it. I got to a point around here halfway through the low end area, of which was ten feet lower than the cliffs around it, but still not in the water, and the dream ended.
Dream 1-36: The Mythbusters in mud and a strikingly similar game

I only recall the last 5 minutes as two parts. I was supposedly watching TV. I saw the Mythbusters explaining stuff about mud. They were in a wooden boat that was on a river of dense mud. The river was about 7 or so feet wide and the mud was about 4 1/2 feet deep. I don't recall how it happened but their boat went out of control tossing them in the mud. They sank in it about a foot every 2 seconds until they hit the bottom. When they touched bottom, they walked almost neck deep in the river of mud about 150 feet where the river got shallower and less steep so that they could get out.
I recalled a game I had that was very similiar. I jumped in the pool of mud and a bar meter appeared at the top. The far right of the meter deplenished while the character was in the mud, whether just standing in it doing nothing or walking. It lost one pixel every 2 seconds meaning it'd run out in about 20 minutes. This meant the resolution was 800x600 according to my best calculated estimate. The game was 3D and had graphics like that of the Gamecube.
3 days later, I actually saw a Mythbusters episode (one involving ninjas) where they did indeed go in something very much like they did in this dream!
Dream 1-37: Tornadoes ruin a mud pool party competition

This well-recalled dream has 7 parts. I recall being at my home area the entire time. There was apparently a party going on in the back yard. There were 20 or so here. In the back yard were 2 mud pools. One was soft and squishy for experts and a dense one for beginners. The goal was to run across the pool without falling in. I didn't play the game, rather, I jumped around (8-foot jumps).
I then saw the dark storm clouds doing strange things, even beginning a localized rotation. It soon became a tornado. I warned everyone to take cover. I ran for the basement but realized no one came. I figured I' cast teleport but was very woried it wouldn't work. I cast the spell but no one appeared. I thought I failed but when I looked back at the ground, I heard a noise saw that they did indeed come. I waited for a bit with the others. I sensed that the danger passed and I returned.
We all resumed the party but instead of me jumping around, I watched the sky. I, again, saw a funnel cloud for, closer this time, and it, too, became a tornado. I warned everyone again and they followed me into the basement. One looked around in the sandy area. I went with him and I went into a few quarter-inch deep mud pools.
I eventually returned to the back yard with the others but sensed no sign of danger. The tornadoes didn't cause any detectible damage. I tried the game where you dashed across the mud running on it. I first practiced the bursts getting to 30 mph but 0 to 15 in 1/2 second. I took 2 runs at the expert pool and ran across better than any one else. I was going so fast even without a head start like the others that even the soft mud was more like a solid. I then thought of going in but wanted it to seem like an accident. I thought of getting on top of the building I waited in for the game. I tried many times but was unable to with my 8-foot jumps. I brought over other objects but that, too, didn't work. Just 20 seconds before the dream ended, I decided I should just intentionally jump in the pool of soft mud. I jumped in the mud that was 4 feet deep. I stood still in it for 3 seconds then the dream ended.
As you faced the back yard from the drive way, the soft mud pool was to the left and the dense mud pool was to the right. There was a building about 12 feet high from the ground to the roof. The pools were the same size at 16 feet long and about 8 feet wide. You ran across the longer distance, the 16-foot distance. There was a 25-foot gap between the pools (their centers spaced 33 feet apart).
Dream 1-38: Jumping in a mud pit in a rain-soaked old small town

I'm with my relatives in a rain-soaked small town of old-looking buildings likely with barely 50 residents. There are no paved roads, just roads of dirt (mud due to the rain) and no cars in sight. A female ran across one of the roads, one of my supposed relatives and we all chased her. I, however, end up in a pit of soft, gooey mud and sink, stuck. I did it deliberately. I vaguely recall what else happened.
Dream 1-39: A volcanic mud discovery on Mars

I only recall bits and pieces of this dream involving human Mars exploration, a rarity with my dreams. I recall at least 4 human explorers wondering around on Mars' surface. I do not recall if I was involved or just watching a monitor. The feelings I had are very poorly recalled. The scientists then see a grayish substance that looks like mud. They approach it and see that it was bubbling a little. They use a long metallic silver-colored rod to take a sample. The test showed that it was a substance with a name using 2 (possibly 3 with a 30% certainty) elemental names in it (such as "carbon dioxide" or "sodium fluoride"). Their atomic numbers are from 4 to 50 with 100% certainty and 4 to 30 for 90% certainty. The substance I forgot the name to. The substance was near human body temperature at about 100°F. Scientists thought it was possibly volcanic. The pH was only 6, slightly acidic.
One of the scientists went off to get equipment for further testing, but slips into the substance waist deep and found it very squishy. He/she quickly got out of it then took another route. The minilab was grabbed and the one returned. I recall a radio call being made back to mission headquarters on Earth to get scientists to test the substance. A while later, likely 20 minutes, the report comes back stating it was volcanic, but completely safe to jump in and touch.
The third and final part involves the scientists just wading through the substance looking for something. It was thin so it was easy to walk through. One scientist went in so deep that he/she had to swim through it. I don't recall anything else, however.
Dream 1-40: Forest gliding and landing in a mud in an old-style village

I only recall the last minute. I'm gliding along a medium-density forested area at 150 mph. I come across an old-style village - houses were made of straw. A little further ahead, I drop down read to land, but crash into a wall at 100 mph bouncing back some. I land in a pool of deep dark brown mud with a lot of lumps on the surface. I sunk a bit in it and struggled to get upgright, but the dream ended before I did.
